Before I left the hospital, had to eat a lil chicken bullion. And be able to hold it. Since I've been home, I drink a Protein Shake when I wake up, Water thru out the day, broth for lunch and dinner

Thanks for sharing NewMommy! I am 11 days PO and have been doing fine, but I feel the "paper info" my Dr gave me was minimal and not laid out nice like yours. I guess it is the teacher in me....I like info presented clearly and easy to understand.

Hi Folks, I saw that you all posted that you were scheduled for June surgery. I just had mine on June 27, 2013 and want to see how everyone was doing.

I am into my second week and working to find full liquids that are not sweet, cause I am sick of sweet. Yesterday I bought some chicken noodle Soup from whole foods and blended it with a little Isopure Protein. It was the best thing I have tasted in weeks! I wish you all the best of luck!

MENTAL HUNGER:

I am trying to make it to Wednesday. I am not hungry, like AT ALL! But, I have mental hunger. I have a three year old and husband whom I have to cook for. I struggle so bad, not wanting to eat their food, but ready to eat my food! Does that makes sense? This hasn't been an issue until tonight. I get to start the mushy stage on Wednesday and I am ready. Tonight I made my husband chicken salad and it looked amazing.

Another thing I have to throw out there is I am always freaked about getting a leak. Do you guys every worry about that? I am doing what I am told but it always feels weird in my mind. Is this normal?

I would love some advice from those who have been through the mushy stage. What was your first meal, what worked for you and didn't. I know that we are all different and one thing may work for you that wont for me. I am just curious what your doctor considered mushy. My list shows one thing and when I called they told me another. I am just worried.

Lastly, thank you for allowing me to complain and not judging me! I love my husband more than anything but I can't talk to him much about this. I don't think he cares. He cares about my health and me but I think he gets bored with this topic. I don't blame him. A person can only hear the same thing 100 times before they flip. ha!

You can get in 390 calories and 49 grams of Protein in your morning shake, then the rest of the day isn't so hard. I make my morning shake with skim milk, 1/2 cup plain fat free greek yogurt and 1tablespoon natural Peanut Butter. I use chocolate Protein Powder so I get peanut butter choc flavor and the Greek yogurt cuts down the sweet-yummy.

Is it possible to get too much Protein in at one time? I try and space mine out a bit.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
