Day 4 Post op What can I drink?

I had surgery on Monday and have only had water, vitamin water, broth, and green tea. Im feelng hungry and weak. Any suggestions as to something I can have on this "clear liquid" diet that may give me some protein?

On Wed before I left the hospital, the nurse listened to my stomach and said it was starting to rumble. I asked if that was ok and she said it was good :)

I am 4 weeks post op, and I still have a hard time eatting! I can drink about 32 oz of water, and I usually can get my protein in by drinking shakes, Greek yogurt, string cheese, cottage cheese and refried beans. Although I am on solids I still prefer soft foods. I had a few bites of roast and that went down well, but when I made a chicken breast it didn't settle all that good. Tonight I will try a boneless skinless thigh from the crock pot. During liquids I lived off broth, water, crystal light and sf jello. And protein shakes. There are times that I still feel weak. I believe for myself that the weakness is coming from loosing so much so fast and causing muscle deterioration.

On another note, I do believe that everyone's recovery is different and every surgeon gives different post op rules. You will find what works for you, might not work for someone else. This is definitely a journey of discovery. Good luck to everyone.
