    I'm Afraid of Bread...

I do 1 slice is Sara Lee 40 calorie wheat bread, so a half sandwich, usually tuna, egg salad or pb&j. It's very filling, but doesn't always hurt me. Toasted sometimes helps. I can do whole wheat pasta and brown rice, but not often. I usually make a breakfast rice, with bacon and eggs for some extra protein. I have no problem with tortilla chips and salsa, but have to be very careful with a tortilla. Usually do carb smart wheat tortillas and they are small but can only eat 1.

    still feel "fat"

I can relate, and get upset when people tell me I am too skinny. I still want to shop In the plus size stores. I also have lost 100lbs and went from a 20 to a size 8

    Gas Gas and more Gas!

You really want to stay on top of this. Add fiber into your diet. I am 6 months post op, and I feel lucky if I can use the bathroom once a week. You will also notice once you start adding food an protein in more that at times you will get a very loose BM, but most of the time it will be a chore to go.

    Loosing hair! Help!

I too am a hair stylist, and I have been loosing my hair for about 4 months. I even had to cut my hair short because I thought it would lessen the loss. I am going to try Biotin 5000mg. I'm not to sure Nioxin will help stop it. The worst part for me is I am afraid to color my hair, because I'm afraid it will just all fall out.
  5. I too bought some Ensure shakes last night.
  6. Poorhouse, I think you have very valid questions. You might think they are silly to ask, but the truth is that most of us are not/ were not fat because we knew how to make positive and nutritious choices. I think when you first have surgery it is in your best interest to follow the plan to a T. However once you have hit a situation like ours, I think it's best to find the most healthiest way to add back calories. Do I find myself discouraged and eatting Junk? Absolutely. I know what made me gain weight before so it must work now right? Truth is, I eat the junk and I feel sick, dumping syndrome sets in. I crash, my mind goes haywire and I realize that my body just can no longer handle it. Best of luck to you on your surgery. My face and neck were forgiving, but not so much other areas.
  7. So I had surgery March 18th and I have lost 100lbs in 6 months. I was a low BMI and only had about 100 to loose. So I have met my goal and I do t want to loose any more. I still struggle with upping my calories. Still intaking about 6-800 a day. I'm never hungry and have a hard time forcing myself to eat. I still do protein shakes and usually with drink most of my calories trying to get the protein. I don't know how to up my calorie intake without making poor choices. Is anyone else going through this,or have home through this. I'm afraid that the loss will never stop and I will just wither away and die. Oh and I cannot work out because I burn more than I eat.

    Help! I can't stop loosing!

Damn auto correct. Day is suppose to mean fat. Lol
  10. I feel it. I'm happy with my results, and do not regret anything. I just want to stop. Everyone comments about my weight and it really pisses me off. My old beat friend is also my enemy. I'm not sure why but I feel like it's jealousy and I have not changed who I am just because I'm skinny. But her loss not mine.

    Help! I can't stop loosing!

Thanks! I will try some ensure. I do smoothies as well. Normally a slim and fit without the day burner. 350 calories and 25 grams of protein. Maybe I should do a bulk me up smoothie.

    Questions for women only

My drive also crashed. I was so excited to loose weight and finally feel comfortable enough to want to have sex. My poor husband, I haven't had sex since July because if I don't get enough water in I'm too dehydrated and to be honest, it hurts.

    Help! I can't stop loosing!

Yes! I add peanut butter to cream of wheat, and rice cakes. I do Greek yogurt everyday and I have tried using 2% milk instead of day free. I do use regular cheese when I eat cheese. And have stopped purchasing fat free anything.
  15. I concur! I am going through the same thing, and feel very scared. Food never sounds appealing, and when I finally do get a taste for something, I can't enjoy it. I was 250lbs when I had surgery, and I am 5'10". I was still wearing my maternity clothes 1 year after my 3rd son was born because I refused to buy a size 22 pants. I am now 6 months out, I weight 150lbs and I am in a size 8. This is exciting don't get me wrong, but I literally have started to cry when I step on the scale, and have lost more weight. I am getting to skinny and cannot control it. I would love to work out and build muscle but, I can't do that either because I burn more calories than I can consume in a day.
  16. I have been married for 2.5 years. I had surgery March 18, 2013. Almost 4 months post op. I was a low BMI with only about 100lbs ideally to lose. I have lost 73lbs since my surgery, and have felt very disconnected from life and food. The biggest argument in my house is that I no longer cook meals. I try very hard to cook things that everyone including myself can eat, but my husband is not happy with the meals. So I have boycotted cooking. I feed my two small children and allow him to fend for him self. He is very non supportive of my surgery and my marriage is falling apart. I enjoy being smaller and feeling better about my self, but there is also a part of me that thinks, damn I should have stayed over weight and unhappy with myself so that everyone else could be pleased. I feel at a loss all the time.

    Wal-Mart

  18. The day I came home from the hospital he expected me to cook him a full meal. It became so stressful for me that I started to smoke again because it was the only vice I had. The second day home he called me selfish because I refused to stand in the kitchen for 2 hours frying chicken for 8 people. I understand that I am a wife and a mother and that I do have some responsibilities, but damn is there a common ground somewhere?
  19. I have been chewing gum since I was 5 days post op. I never had a problem with the gum. However sugar free things taste very sweet to me and don't sit well. I am currently 9 weeks out. Getting your protein in daily is very important. I prefer red meat, it's easier on the sleeve for me that chicken breast. Everyone's different though. You will just have to play around and see what works for you. Good luck!

    I am not losing weight

Stalls happen. It seems common to hit one at about 3 weeks out. After that you will loose a few more pounds and then stall again. Watch your carb intake during these times. Try to stay a low as you can. Up your protein, drink as much water as you can and exercise as much as you can. I also have noticed that during my cycle I will stall.

    What are your staples?

I am two months post op and I still live off Greek yogurt, protein shakes, string cheese and cream of wheat. My biggest problem is remember to chew well and slow down when I eat things like chicken, beef etc. however I also like smoothies. It's been a great way for me to add more protein into my diet, and I don't get bored that way.

    Post op march sleevers

Wow! That's amazing! I was sleeved March 18th. I weighed 247 and I am currently at 201. It seems like you have a good food system down. I meet protein daily, but struggle with water still. It's hard for me to get 32 oz in a day. I do a shake in the morning, protien snack mid day and try to eat dinner. I have a hard time forcing myself to eat. I walk a lot Nd try to get to water areobics, but find myself slacking often.

    Worried about bad breath

I think it comes with the territory. I believe it has a lot to do with ketosis and acid reflux. It's horrible. I brush up to 5 times a day, rinse with mouth wash and constantly am chewing gum. My mouth always tastes horrible. Plus the acid is eating the enamel off my teeth.
