Did your doctor prescribe a PPI for you, like Pepcid? Sometimes the growly hungry feelings are actually too much acid in your tummy. My surgeon wanted me on them for at least 4 weeks post-op.

I was supposed to take protonix for 6 months! I couldn't handle it and had to switch to Zantac. PPIs give me a headache.

Ok.. well my morning didnt start off too good but as the day

progressed i begun to feel better. I got up walked around

Walmart and did a little shopping.. got a scale and some

different Protein Shakes and some more stuff.. are the Atkin

shakes good? I brought some of those..

The Atkins shakes made me sick after about a week. Had gas and diarrhea. Premier shakes are better to me and have more Protein. But I know some that love the Atkins so you will just have to try them to see what works for you.

I was on Proteins right away. My NUT said the Protein is essential to wound healing, which I knew from my parents' various joint replacement surgeries and my previous c-sections. My OB was insistent on a high Protein diet for healing my long c-section incision. I wonder how people on Clear Liquids for a few weeks fare in recovery compared to those who have to have Protein Shakes?

And BTW, I did Atkins for a few years and detest their shakes!! The Slim Fast high protein shakes are the same flavor as the Atkins. I'm just making carnation w/ skim milk and adding 1/2 scoop of unjury unflavored Protein Powder per shake.

I heard that there was a three week stall, does anyone know what's that about? When does it usually end? I got to my third week and I've only lost half a pound after four days. I hate to call it a stall because I can tell my stomach looks smaller and my clothes keep getting looser.... it's just frustrating that the scale numbers won't budge especially because I had a short term goal of 169 by the 7th and I'm still 5 pounds away.

You shouldn't focus on only number goals. Think of sone non-scale victories you would like to achieve. Like tour clothes getting looser! Yayayat!!!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
