Recommended Posts

I'm looking to speed my weight loss up. I had my surgery feb 23,2013 & I started at 253.8 & now I'm at 231.6 so I'm considering getting on Optifast diet or Jenny Craig or somethin. I've been in the 235 lb range for the past two and half weeks!!!

I'm ready to get under 200lbs already!!!

All I can say, is the one time I tried Jenny Craig, I hated the food. I did ok on Optifast. I wish I could have some of the optifast shakes and Soups now. All the Protein drinks/powders I have now make me want to gag.

Have you thought about ideal Protein? Its similar to a sleever diet. Protein shakes, Soups and bars with a lean & green meal per day. Low carb.

May work out for you.

Hi,

Just help me to understand; you HAD your surgery on February 23 but now want to do Jenny Craig? The whole point of having the surgery is to help you eat very small portions to lose weight. What exactly are you eating? Post more information in this regard so we can help you to help you work your sleeve not pay more money to go to some diet place.

FYI: I did very low carb for the majority of my weight loss phase:

tuna, cheese string, fish, chicken, turkey, eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, other cheeses, sometimes chili

Also a little veggies:

cauliflower rice, kale, green Beans.< /p>

BTW I also had Dr Fernando Garcia for my surgeon

Please PM me if you need more information. Best wishes.

In my view, this procedure should not be followed by another weird, artificial diet. The weight WILL come off. Eat a healthy, Protein heavy diet and move toward relatively normal HEALTHFUL eating as soon as you can. Why further torment yourself? Your body will eventually love a nice normal lean diet, providing plenty of healthful and satisfying foods every day. Jenny Craig??? You can't be serious.

When people usually stall on their weight loss, they "go back to basics" with their diet. Someone above said go back to a Protein rich diet with non-starchy vegetables and you might see some movement on the scale. I've also seen people say that their weight loss stops when they don't eat enough and eating more will restart it.

Have you been able to talk to your doctor about your concerns? What is he/she saying about doing Jenny Craig?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
