Is it too late to get in on the challenge? If I could get in put me down for 9 lbs and 3x aweek at the gym. My weigh in this morning was 249lb...I lost 2 lbs this last week!! :cool2::thumbup:

I will start my weigh in at 259. I think that the challenge ends on my b-day which is on Sept. 1. Meeting my goal would be a good present to myself.

I know I am in bandster hell but I think TOM will be coming soon and I am starving. All I want to to is eat. I am going to confess what I ate today and tell me if I am going to stretch my pouch.

B: 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese melted on top

L: 1-1/2 cups of pureed Soup

S: cup of watermelon

D: cup of soup; 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of cheese melted on top

S: 5 club crackers

Does that seem like way too much? I am still hungry!! I read posts on here where people only eat 1 cup TOTAL for their all dinner. How do most people eat while they are in "bandster hell"?

Bella, I don't think that sounds bad at all. How many calories is that?

I guess when I entered everything into thedailyplate.com, it only came to 800 calories. I guess I am eating the right foods but it seems like I am eating more than I should.

Sorry about your gallbladder. When is your surgery again? You will feel so much better when it is out! When I needed my gallbladder out, it was right when I had my finals in nursing school, and the following week I was supposed to go see my sisters Marine Corp graduation at Parris Island. I wasn't about to miss either, so I told the surgeon I couldn't have surgery until I got back. The whole time we were in SC for my sisters graduation, my mom was freaking out that they would have to take me to the hospital. She was always looking for the nearest hospital when we were driving anywhere, you know, "just in case". Moms can be such worry warts sometimes!:cool2: All ended up fine, I got my gallbladder out, and felt sooo much better. I had a golf ball sized stone in mine!! Yikes!!

I forgot to tell you to start me at 189 for the challenge. You are so nice to keep track of all of us! I am not organized enough, I would have everyones weights all screwed up (considering half the time I can't remember my own weight from the week before)! :thumbup:

Do I call their office or will they call me at the time the consult is set up for. I feel like a dolt for not thinking of this earlier.

They'll call you . . . but if they're more than 30 or 40 minutes late, then call and speak for Natalie. They forgot to call me on my originally scheduled day!

hey Mini~Thanks for asking. My son went to visit him yesterday. No change. He will be in the ICU for a little over a week and then go to Craig for inpatient therapy. I am praying that when he gets to Craig we will see more progress. I was working on getting a bunch of pictures to make a collage and I came accross some of his drawings, they are amazing. Of course I balled for the rest of the day!

How is your band treating you?

His youth, a great inpatient facility and a good support network are all on his side. I'm praying for his progress, too. How are all of the kids doing with this? Your boys and their friends have had so many hard experiences just in the time I've known you here. I know it's a lot for them to process; heck, hard for adults to deal with -- but teens?! Oy!

I'm going in on the 19th for my fill. Haven't heard from the school, maybe tomorrow. It's either Liberty or Horizon Elementary. They will decide which.

I gained weight between my surgery and first fill. I have lost pretty steadily since having fills. Everybody is different but the fills are what help you lose weight.

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

        Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

        Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

        I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

        I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

        BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
