Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum - Considering Dr. Kirshenbaum

Its funny, I can't eat Protein but I have no problem eating an oreo cookie.

I went to dinner with my sister and can't even eat a 1/4 of my chicken, however I can go shopping buy oreos and eat one just fine. The good thing is I only had one cookie and that was enough to satisfy that craving. Its weird. After dinner we went to Wal-mart and because the chicken had gotten stuck and I was still hungry I made poor choices when I shopped. I got oreos and popcorn. At least the popcorn is the 100 calorie packs, that's good, right?

I know why I am making these food choices, with my mom's anniversary and all. I just need to get over that though and stop using it as an excuse for my poor judgement.

Dee, I wish I had your will power and could just go down and jump on the treadmill when I felt this way. What is hard for me is I know I have this tool and that I can eat a little and than stop, so I just seem to make poor choices even if it is only a few bites.

Sorry I am rambling again, I seem to be doing that a lot lately.

Hope everyone has a good night and I will ck in tomorrow.:)

Mini - Its not so much the outing that I'm worried about, its that I will be with someone I know. It's not so bad when I take my daughter to the pool and its just us. It's that another mom will be there and I always feel that they are judging me, even though I know they aren't. They could care less what I look like, they just enjoy spending time with my daughter and me.

When you guys talk about something getting "stuck", sounds scary. What does it mean and what do you do when it happens?:confused2:

Mini: I live in Portland.

I hear ya. We have a perfectly lovely pool at my college and I have tried to swim laps a few times but the thought of my students seeing me in my swimsuit is just more than I can bear. I know I'm being silly . .. but I can't seem to help myself. And I really LIKE swimming. It's one of the few forms of exercise that I actually enjoy!

Deb -- It gets stuck going down, it happens to me if I don't chew well enough. That's why you always hear chew, chew, chew and chew some more. When it happens I either have to throw up or just wait it out and sometimes it will just go through after a while. It feels I really really bad heartburn. Please don't let this scare you. It is really not that bad and I figure it is worth it me, it's a side effect to not beeing so fat.

Mini -- I love swimming too. I was a swimmer growing up, all through HS and college. I even qualified for the JR. Olympics in 7th grade. I didn't get to go, I broke my arm 2 weeks before the meet. I was so disappointed. But I still love to swim and have talked to my trainer about making it a part of my workout reg.

Beahot~Sounds like you found some really cute swim wear! I saw so many cute pieces. I wouldn't even try any on. Wal mart did have a good selection! Shopping is another one of my addictions, yesterday I shopped most of the day and came home with NOTHING! I am having non buyers remorse, for not buying! Suze would be so proud, I know my hubby was.

Have fun at the pool today!

I hate that Cookies and junk stuff goes down so easily. I was doing pretty good yesterday until my son sat next to me with a bag of Flaming Hot Funions and a bag of cookies!

I know what you mean Miss. Mal...I ate tons of crackers and pringles...they go so much easier than anything!

I could only get down 3-4 bites of chicken and 20 chips! Go figure????

Hey Deb. If you click on the place that says Ticker Factory above my little countdown thingy, it will take you to a place where you can make a ticker. Then you copy and past it into your signature at the user CP site here. I know there are detailed instructions on some thread, but it wasn't very hard. Congrats on your consult and surgery date. Woohoo!!

Don't be scared, my heart is in the right place...my mouth is just not cooperating!

I think everyone goes through these phases, it is just important that we get back to where we need to be...I am in that process again!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
