  1. I have a friend, who is heavier than I ever was, she has told me "You used to be my token fat friend". She also asked what size I was wore at my heaviest, when I told her 16/18 she said "No way I thought you were bigger than me". So the other day I called and we were talking I asked her what she was doing and she said that she was in the pantry eating her 3rd cinnamon roll. I asked her why she was in the pantry and she said that way if no one sees her the calories don't count. I had to laugh and than I asked her if the light was off that way she couldn't see the calories going straight to her as... I know it was mean to say, but this is supposed to be one my BFF and she has ragged on me since I started losing weight and I had finally had enough and just had to give her a dose of her own medicine.
  2. Brandyk, First can I start off by saying look how well you have done. You have lost 45 pounds, that is AWESOME!!!!! We are all human, we all have little slips, just get back on track. Don't beat yourself up. The band is a tool and you just put it away for a while. Get it filled back up and start using it again. You can do it, just look at how well you did before your slip. Best of luck to you, keep up the good work.
  3. Autumn, I had my consult with my Dr. in early Dec 07 and I had surgery 1/2/08. That was just my Dr., plus I was a self pay. So I didn't have to do a lot of tests and such. What area are you in? DO you have a Dr. yet? Best of luck to you on this life changing journey.
  4. Hello All, I am new to this tread. I was banded on 1/2/008 by Dr. K in Aurora, CO. I love my band and have lost all but abt 16 lbs. I have been hearing about the Couch to 5k and today saw this thread, so I thought I would check it out. It looks like a lot of fun, so I am going to try it today. I will let you know how it goes.:smile2::ohmy:
  5. I had my surgery done in Aurora, CO by Dr. Kirshenbaum, I to was a self pay ($9995.00 which included 3 months of follow-up care, after that my fills are way cheap). If I were you I would reconsider having surgery at this time. You have way to much on your plate (no pun intended) and that is an aweful lot of money to spend. Best of luck to you that you make the best choice for your family.
  6. I was banded on 1/2/08 and I am down 57 pounds, I only have abt 20 to 25 more to go. Like Brandy I was a lower BMI. Best of luck to you on your life changing journey.
  7. I agree with luigismama and Lunabeane DO NOT make your self throw up. It can cause your band to slip and you don't want that. Just wait it out, you will feel better in a little while and if you don't call your dr. I had pintos and beans abt a week after my surgery too...funny thing is I would never in a million yrs have ordered them pre band, but I just had to have Taco Bell and knew that they where only thing I would be able to get down. My own way of cheating. Best of luck to you as you start this amazing journey.:cursing:
  8. Hi, I was banded by Dr. K on 1/2/08 it has been the best thing that I have ever done. I was a self pay as well. I actually did very little research about the band, had 1 consult (with Dr. K) and scheduled my surgery the day of my consult. I found lbt.com after I had my band placed. I love him, his staff and my band. Plus I have made some awesome friends here on lbt.com that have also had surgery by him. I have lost over 50 lbs. so far and only have about 30 more to go. Best of luck to you on this life changing journey. Go for it you deserve to be happy, healthy and beautiful.
  9. Julie, I live 5 miles north of Monument, I had my surgery in Parker and my husband drove me home afterward. I slept the whole way, I was still pretty drowsy. Good luck to you I hope everything goes well. Denise:wink:
  10. Lvly, You just need to put that behind you and start fresh. Start making the right choices, working out and putting the band to work for you. You can do it, look at the success you have had in such a short time. Have a had a fill yet or will this be your first? Best of luck to you and keep up the GREAT work:tongue:
  11. Hi Linz, I had my banding done 1/2/08. I love it and Dr. K and everyone in his office they are so nice and helpful. Best of luck to you.
