march sleevers the good and the bad

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on the 20th as well. I'm down 18 pounds and on soft foods. Everything is great. The only problem I have is the pain surrounding my left incisions. Doc said that's where he pulled the stomach through and it'll hurt for a while longer. Other than that I'm so happy I made this decision!

That's exactly where I'm sore - left side! Other than that, I'm doing good, too. Sleeved 3/26 - 21 lbs down as of yesterday, all post-op!

Ok, so after reading all of your fabulous success stories, I was really beginning to feel somewhat discouraged. I was sleeved on March 19th and as of this morning I am down 12 pounds. Then I remembered that somewhere someone said that if the scale stops moving to measure yourself. Well I measured myself neck, shoulders, biceps, chest, waist, hips, and thighs, the day before surgery. I took out my journal and tape measure and I have lost a total of 16.75 inches!!! 5.5 of my hips alone, super excited.

I haven't lost anything since my one week appointment but my pants are getting smaller. I know I am holding on to Water weight because I haven't been getting in all of my water. Plus I am constipated. So I'm hoping next week it breaks. This weekend I am going to be pushing the fluids. I just hate feeling full/like I am eating/drinking all the time.

I was sleeved on March 18, and in 2 weeks lost 17lbs.. Then this week nothing! I'm getting very discouraged.. The liquids are a struggle for me to meet everyday. There are days I wake up so weak, it takes forever to do my hair of a morning, because I have to take breaks.. I'm getting all my Protein by drinking the Isopure Zero drinks. I can tell I'm losing inches but just not seeing the numbers in weight. I have such a hard time just getting food down, I almost dread the thought of eating because it makes me feel so yucky.. I'm wondering if it will always be this way. I can't imagine trying to eat a piece of meat! Trying to stay positive, but this week I'm having a little regret!

Alot of ppl stall around 3 wks. Dont get discouraged. You can still lose inches while it doesnt show on the scale. I feel weak if I get no calories at all, get dehydrated, or if I forget to take my B12 and Vitamins. So I try to be diligent with those things.

Are you keeping a journal? If not, you should. When the scale isn't moving the inches are leaving your body. Try it, I'm sure you will definitely appreciate it. Our new life has just begun, it will only get better.

I was sleeved March 18th, and have no pain or side effects from the surgery. I've lost 22lbs post op. The only Protein drinks I can drink is the Isopure bottled drinks..

Ive been doing ok. Eating lots of yogurt, cottage cheese, and Soup. I have in the last week been really feeling my sleeve, like inside my stomach. Its like it feels sore and I get these weird half-hiccup/ half-burp spasmy things and its like I can feel the entire line. I'm not sure if its bad heartburn or my nerves are waking up. It doesn't hurt to eat or drink. So other than feeling and it feeling weird, Its not keeping me from eating or going on with life

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
