  6. First of all, I'm sorry your family is not being understanding and supportive, I was sleeved March 18th 2013, I too, had regrets. There were times when I said to myself "what have I done to myself" But please trust me when I say, it does get better! I felt alone and a stranger to my own family. My husband refused to take me out to eat because it was a waste of money. It took me and my family some time to adjust to the fact that the old me ( as far as eating) was gone.... Which made me sad too. But now after time has passed, we as a family and me as a person has adjusted and accepted my new tummy. We go out to eat on occasion, I just come home with a lot of leftover's.. It truly is a learning process, but more for me, it was a whole new mental process when it came to food! I will keep you in my prayers, and I know in time you will be in a better place. I still have times when I miss food and wish that I could eat more and enjoy food the way I used to. But those times are fewer and fewer as the months pass. I wish you nothing but success and happiness!!! Jesus keep

  10. I was sleeved March 18th, and have no pain or side effects from the surgery. I've lost 22lbs post op. The only Protein drinks I can drink is the Isopure bottled drinks..
  11. I too had Dr Alamanza, and when they took me into surgery EVERYONE had mask covering their face. It was a very clean facility, granted it is nothing like what we have in the US as far as Hospitals, But they had all the necessary equipment as would our hospitals. I have nothing but great things to say about the care I received from Dr. Almanza and his staff..

  14. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op, and thought I was going to miserable for the rest of my life with horrible heartburn. Having surgery in Mexico, I didn't come home with a lot of information on diet and medications. Someone on here told me to take one Prevacid every single morning. I have not had a single bout with heartburn, since starting it!

  20. I was sleeved on March 18, and in 2 weeks lost 17lbs.. Then this week nothing! I'm getting very discouraged.. The liquids are a struggle for me to meet everyday. There are days I wake up so weak, it takes forever to do my hair of a morning, because I have to take breaks.. I'm getting all my protein by drinking the IsoPure Zero drinks. I can tell I'm losing inches but just not seeing the numbers in weight. I have such a hard time just getting food down, I almost dread the thought of eating because it makes me feel so yucky.. I'm wondering if it will always be this way. I can't imagine trying to eat a piece of meat! Trying to stay positive, but this week I'm having a little regret!
  21. I am taking Pepcid, and it doesn't do any good. I get it every time I drink any of the Protein drinks.. And I've tried numerous different protein drinks.
  22. I was sleeved March 18. I have not had to take any pain meds since day 2 post op. I am still on full liquids, move to puree April 8th. I am having a hard time getting all my liquids in. I have done well with the protein using the Isopure drinks. The only problems I have had is severe heartburn all the time, and nothing seems to help! There has been a couple of days when I was pretty weak. But overall I've done very well.
  23. My surgery in Tijuana Mexico cost me $4797.00 for the Gastric Sleeve. I am 17 days post op, and have not had an ounce of pain or problems at all, I have heartburn all the time, but I see that is pretty normal. I used Dr Almanza. There was 14 other Men/Women from all over the US having Surgery the same day I did, and NONE of us has had a single complication..
