When did you get Heartburn Relief?

I am 6 months post op. I never had heartburn before surgery I have lost about 100 lbs and I am 15 lbs out from my goal weight.

I did have a lot of heartburn for the first 3 months but after taking a PPI (Prilosec) it went away completely.

My question for all of you about 1 year or further out … When where you able to stop your heartburn meds?

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op, and thought I was going to miserable for the rest of my life with horrible heartburn. Having surgery in Mexico, I didn't come home with a lot of information on diet and medications. Someone on here told me to take one Prevacid every single morning. I have not had a single bout with heartburn, since starting it!
