Rice Rice Baby...

I really like to make stir fry. I prefer mine over brown rice. Carbs notwithstanding, will rice be sleeve safe eventually?

Some people say they can't tolerate it after the sleeve... I've personally have not had a problem with it (brown rice) I did not try it until after the 3 month mark and never had more than a couple of spoons of it, but no problems.

I eat rice 2-3times a with my post workout meal. Not much though, maybe a 1/4-1/2 cup. I can't eat fish without it being mixed up with a little rice.

Someone mentioned making faux rice out of cauliflower.... I am not sure if I read it on here or another FB page or what. It may be something to look into.

I have a tablespoon or two of brown rice with some stuff. I could go with out it, but I like the texture difference with some of the stuff I have it with.

I am 10 weeks and have had a few bites with some of my foods. Esp. Curry chicken. I only allow a few bites though and its satisfying. I tried it at 9 week's.

I've read where it is one of that last things we an add and it may take longer to tolerate it than other things..... I will definitely want to add some rice here and there at some point too, but I'll be using it more like a garnish than the main event like I used to!

I think giving it a few months makes sense. Thanks for the feedback.

Riced cauliflower is fantastic. Put it in your food processor and pulse until it looks like rice. Put in microwave to cook(3-5 minutes) and depending if it is fresh or not does not need any Water, it makes its own steam. Add butter and enjoy.

I'm less than a week post-op, so I have no idea how it will sit with me, but I love to make fried "rice" with cauliflower. This is the recipe I have used in the past - maybe some of you would like it. http://nomnompaleo.com/post/3195098303/asian-cauliflower-fried-rice

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
