Today I decided to make deviled eggs, something for the soft/puree stage. I ate 4 deviled egg halves (the equivalent of 2 whole eggs). Is this a lot? I didn't feel so much "full" but I had such a fullness, hurting in my chest that I stopped. Anyone got any comments??

You will soon learn how to tell when you're full. Everyone feels a bit different. Two eggs sounds like a lot to me. But as I said. We are all different

I could barely eat one egg at that stage. Slow down your eating and you will probably eat less. I am 3 months out and I still have a tough time with a whole egg. You should never have pain, that is from eating too fast and you are stretching your esophagus, also you may barf, go slow :-). Good luck!!

I know I did eat them too fast. I was so excited about having them. I think that is the reason for the "fullness" in my chest. I didn't feel full in my sleeve at all but I don't think it had time to process with my brain because I did eat them fast. I hope I didn't mess anything up! What do you guys think???

It's a learning curb, now you know and you can prevent this in the future. I seriously doubt if you have done any damage. However you want to be careful as you too are newly sleeved and healing. There have been many threads about people who have gotten leaks, and they don't sound like fun. Slow down and enjoy your egg next time :)

While in this puree/soft food stage, how much should I be eating as far as weighing out my food? Then when I start eating normal, how much should I be weighing out at a sitting? This is not something that I was told by my NUT. Any suggestions on how much so I DON'T overeat and can feel satisfied??

I'm supposed to do 2 tablespoons-1/4 cup each meal during purees. 1/4-1/2 cup i think of soft? Can't remember that one. Ultimately eating normal at 1-1/2 cups of food per meal.

I do not eat more than 4 oz at one sitting. You can go buy some measuring cups from the grocery store. Don't get in the habit of wanting to be full, we have done that and you see how that worked for us :( Don't drink fluids when eating, if you concentrate on getting in dense Proteins you wont be as hungry, because they take longer to digest.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
