Fitbit vs Bodybugg vs Bodymedia vs Jawbone Up

I am so torn about which fitness tracker to get! There are so many conflicting reviews. I keep finding myself drawn to the Fitbit Flex but how much longer do we have to wait for this thing to be released. I want something now and their website just says it will be released "Spring 2013." Does anybody have any insight? I thought I knew what I wanted but now that I've been really researching it, I'm more confused that ever! =)

As of yesterday, Jawbone Up works with MyFitnessPal, in case anyone was still basing their decision on this.

I preordered a long time ago through Amazon. When I ordered the drop date was 5/1. However, I received an email saying that it had been changed to 5/15. It still shows that as a ship date. However, Amazon now shows it as out of stock... I am hoping there aren't problems that are causing the delays.

I'm guessing it's out of stock because the quantity available as pre-orders have been spoken for. That's typically what happens with the Kindles, anyhow. :)

I got an email today from FitBit saying that it's now shipping... I haven't heard anything from Amazon yet, but I guess it's now available.

I'm annoyed that they're available at BestBuy and that some people have already received theirs from Amazon... I pre-ordered (and paid) in March and am showing an expected date of May 17th. I guess this item is a lot more popular than I thought. I had figured that by pre-ordering/paying in March I'd receive it the instant it was finally released.

I sure hope it turns out to be worth the wait.

I decided to cancel my Amazon order and I'm going later this week to get it at best buy

Eric,

Did you wind up getting one at Best Buy? If so, what are your thoughts? Amazon now says that mine is 'preparing to ship' and I should get it by Friday... hmmmm

  • 5 months later...

I have my Fitbit One synced to my Droid.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using VST

I've been using the FitBit Flex since late May and really couldn't be happier. Well, I guess I could be -- they just released a newer version that has a watch on it -- that's a small complaint though...

I really like it and love how it jives with My Fitness Pal -- the two apps sync up and work really well, in my opinion.

So what did everyone get? Reviews? Opinions?

I have several if these gadgets.

Fitbit. LOVE. I use it every single day since I purchased. I can put it in my pocket, attach to undergarments, etc. ease of use is amazing. Syncing I have never had a problem with, through the app, plugging in to laptop, none at all. Accuracy is spot on. Battery life is well over 2 weeks.

Bodybugg. Liked it. Still have. Don't want to pay a monthly fee. Don't like wearing the band on my arm. Problems syncing with app, help(less) desk is a chore and not very knowledgeable associates. Too many questions with on my arm.

Nike fuelband. Still have. Used a couple of times. Back in box. I am a hairstylist so having to take it off and on because its not Water resistant is annoying. Accurate. (Steps)

Also use Polar FT60 HR Monitor when working out to get actual calories used during crossfit or weight training or cycling.

Hope this helps. :)

I noticed the other day that Walmart is now carrying FitBit products - although I don't think they had the newest model.
