PEOPLE WHO ONLY DID 3 day liquid pre op diet

Bigfrank that's not your problem. You have provided appropriate warning. This will be for her and her family to face going forward. Sometimes we have the blessing of making a connection in someone's life where you can make an impression from the other side of the world. This is clearly not opportunity for you.

It's very nice for people to have concerns for strangers over other people's health & well being .... In no way did I feel this from his words of wisdom

Why can't the subject be dropped already?!?!

Nothing is being accomplished. Nothing at all.

I'm done, but I disagree with you Amanda Rae, something HAS been accomplished. There's a 30 BMI'er reading this that is having second thoughts if they ate a rational minded person.

Rollagirl' date=' I don't know what your intellect level is but you need to READ what people are writing. You keep saying that I and a couple others here are on you about your weight. YES WE ARE!!! But not for the reason your mind is calculating it as, we are saying that you are to THIN to get sleeved!!! Read that again....YOU ARE TO THIN TO GET SLEEVED. Also, you are spending valuable time on a website filled with people that have serious weight problems with BMI's that are 40-70, or even higher. These people have tried everything and some are near death. You were obviously smart enough to recognize that you have a problem. You want to do something about it right? How much weight do you want to lose, 30-40 lbs? Then deal with the issues in your mind and go do it! Hell, 30-40 lbs is nothing compared to some of the weight numbers that people here, including myself need to lose. You are better then me because you realized that you had a problem when you hit a BMI of 30, I didn't realize it until my BMI was over 50! Do you think that this surgery is going to cure whatever you have going on in your head? I am here to tell you it's NOT. Over come that FIRST then consider surgery AFTER. But I think you won't need surgery if you fix what's going on in your head first.[/quote']

Wow Frank, why didn't you take your own advice ?

You had a 27-28 BMI when you were 19. She sees herself headed down a similar path you took. The difference is she looking to seize her weight gain now before it gets so out of hand that she has caused irreversible damage to her body.

As for those of us who are supporting her decision, I don't for a second believe I am being disingenuous. I simply am not being so arrogant to believe that my opinion is the end all be all of who should or shouldn't pursue WLS.

Really, if she & her surgeon both agree that she is a good candidate, then your & my opinion really don't matter

I think big frank is at the end of the day concerned about you.. Men really communicate differently and some of his remarks where a little

Ummm strong..I THINK he was a little bent out of shape at the remarks that other woman made. actually those two women said a couple of really cruel things...I tell you that other girl is lucky she didn't make some of those remarks about me. Because I'm not above getting crazy! :P

Anyway what I wanted to say is I've NEVER seen frank react so strongly.. And I really have to believe it was out of concern.

Roller,

I know this is what you have your heart set on. And will do. Does it make me a bit sad? Yes, I don't know why, maybe because someone so "small" in my eyes feels so judged and bad about themselves.. Some of us would consider your weight goal... It's a sad world.

Good luck to you.. And I will be canceling my trip to New Zealand after reading about the harshness against bigger people! :P

That my dear is so far from right.. Is it really a New Zealand thing? Do you people really find it that necessary to be cruel to bigger people?

You are doing the same thing that you guys are complaining about that happens to you there!

Twisted really

Who am I being cruel to? I was talking about my personal experience with a BMI over 40. When you have over 100lbs to lose of course you will some degree of loose skin. I guess I just wish I had dealt with my weight sooner.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
