Imitation crab meat! any ideas/suggestions.

Recommended Posts

I have eaten it right out of the package... At my local food store they sell in reg packages then in individual packages (like string cheese)

I also make a quick family dish: I sautee a shallot, mushrooms and add the crab meat to warm it. I usually add some white wine while cooking the shallot and mushrooms. Then I steam broccoli and mix it all together with some shredded mozarella cheese.< /p>

I just eat this mixture but I serve it to my family over whole wheat Pasta that I toss in a little EVOO and garlic. I used to do this recipie with real crab but then I started using the immitation crab meat and it tastes great too! So you could really use either one!

This is a favorite in my house. My 3 year old LOVES it! He also eats the imitation crab meat right out of the bag. We have to keep it in my house like we do string cheese.

I make a dish by cooking up some spaghetti squash, then sauteing it with some garlic, then I add some frozen stir-fry vegetables, imitation crab and shrimp. I'm not sure the actual nutritional values of it, but it is delicious. It is like a seafood Pasta, but with spaghetti squash instead of pasta.

You could try sautéing it with some green onion, garlic, salt & pepper, then add some lite cream cheese to the mix. Use that mixture to fill some wonton wrappers and bake it off to make a crab Rangoon.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it tonight and it was amazing! I didn't have any green onion, so used onion powder instead.

I believe that imatation crab meat is made out of Pollack fish. It is really good anyway you want to eat it. Cold or hot, you can make a great crab dip or make a seafood crepe. Any recipie for crab meat can use fake crab.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
