Diarrhea or constipated. Depressed on the potty

Recommended Posts

I have had IBS like symptoms for years but I am wondering if they are getting worse. I am 7 wks post op and go two days or so with no bowel movement then have a whole day of diarrhea. With the diarrhea I'm almost grateful bc at least i am not bloated anymore! Is this happening to anyone else?

I am considering trying peppermint oil pills...anyone try this for IBS or severe heartburn? Other suggestions? I have been adding more Fiber lately hoping that'll firm this sh*t up!

Thanks,

Courtney

I had a few days of back and forth, too. Sometimes, the Protein Shakes seem to trigger almost liquid stools. I am just grateful to go, too. We are not eating much fiber at all. I think that might be the culprit.

I'm miserable. It's been 4 days and I haven't been able to go. In almost a month out. From being so regular before surgery to not being able to go, it's driving me crazy cuz I want to go and it won't come out. I wish something Gave me the runs. I took colace but it did nothing. I'm going to take 2 more when I leave work and hope by the time I get home it will work. I'm going to start incorporating flex seed in my diet and see if it works. Any one have any suggests?

My understanding is the diarrhea comes from getting rid of the fat. The fat doesn't just disappear into mid-air, so we mostly poop or pee it out. Usually around ovulation I get constipated and after ovulation I get very loose stool for a couple of days. I usually see a woosh when the loose stool happens and it stays off. I don't have IBS but going from Constipation to having the opposite problem has started happening now that I've been sleeved. I've always had constipation problems before surgery since a very young age and surgery has only made it worse. I now mix fiber powder in my Protein Shakes to keep me regular and I go every day or two. I drink lots of Water

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
