I'm a little late to read this post to wish you Good Luck but that's what I was going to say. By now you are already recovering from the surgery. That part is now behind you. I wish you a prompt recovery and lots of weight loss. Hope it just melts off of you.

I'M HOME....

Sorry guys, I wanted to let you know yesterday when I got home, but the demerol knocked me right out. I just wanted to sleep...

Surgery went well, but they were almost not going to do it because when the nurse weighed me and took my vitals, she said I had a slight fever??? Well, I felt fine, I just told her that could be because I'm getting my period any day now and normally it's just hormonal. So, the doctors came in and said I was GOOD TO GO!!! As usually, I don't react very well to the "anestegia" (sp?).... I get the tremors afterwards very badly....But it soon wore off...

I had alot of pain last night, but continued my tylenol (crushed) tasts so BAD!!! I know theere is a chewable one out there, but I just can't find it.

How soon do I start taking my Vitamins??? Should I wait a few days? Right now I have some crushing gas pain in my chest cavity.. I guess this is normal...My mom is coming over this morning to help me...Thank God!!

I will post again later today to let you all know how I'm doing.

Khrissy.....I tried to chat with you before I left, but I guess we were playing MSN tag.. That's okay... We will talk very soon.

Take care and Thank God this part is over...

Love you all.

Doriana..

Congratulations on your band, I so happy that everything went well.

As far as your tylenol, tell your mom to bring liquid tylenol with her. It is the Adult formula, I'm surprised no one told you. It works wonders.

The pain in your chest, call your doctor ASAP and ask about your Vitamins also. I had chewables to I started taking them the next day after surgery.

Thanks for posting Doriana,

I was thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you got along. I bought children's liquid tylenol. It is usually in the kiddie section of the pharmacy. Thank goodness for Moms eh? Hope the pain goes soon.

Congrats Doriana

Happy to hear all is well.

I used childrens chewable gravol and tyelnol they were so tasty when I was not able to eat. I'd eat my tylenol first and then Oval (for gas) and then the childrens cherry flavored gravol for dessert!!! What you are feeling now will go away won't be long. The worst is over (the waiting!!).

Congratulations Doriana, glad everything went well for you, that would have been horrible, going thru all that yogurt and cottage cheese diet, and then not band you. Glad the Dr. had the sense to say GOOD TO GO.

Alas the gas pain is part of the recovery, they say a heating pad and moving around along with the gas-x helps.

All the best to you in your recovery. Talk to you soon. Hugs

Maria :)

Gas-X helped me some, but walking helped the most. I walked every 30 minutes to an hour for about 5 minutes. It worked wonders. I didn't have shoulder pain, but I felt really tight in the middle of my chest. ONce I walked it got better each time.

good luck to you!!!

Hello,

Thank you all for your support. It means so much to me...

I'm feeling okay right now. I got my hubby to get my the junior strength Tylenol... I'm taking 4 of them. Is this enough or do I require more?

I had some broth today, tried the isopro chocolate Protein drink mixed with Water. It was okay...Not that bad.

Am I okay to have black coffee ( I know NO milk this week, right??)

I will be asking you lots of questions...

Thanks again and have a great night.

Doriana.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
