I'm still sleeping on my back & on a sofa and it's literally throwing sleep out the window for me. I'm going to start getting back to sleeping on my sides, then eventually my tummy. I'm usually a hard sleeper and being on the couch at first has helped not be all over the place.

sleeved on 2/26 and sleep has been the worst. I can gently sleep on my right side but I move a lot normally and I'm stuck to my back a lot which has caused all sorts of back issues and kinks in my neck. I take the tylenol plus codiene which helps to sleep as I'm running a low temperature on and off. had a leak after surgery and was in the hospital for 10 days. it was definatley not fun. ive had 3 drains placed. hoping to have them out Thursday.id say they are more uncomfortable than my incisions. started at 313 lbs and currently 274 is where I'm at. I'm glad were all around the same time sleeved. would love to keep in touch with others like me. gas is uncomfortable but usually in my left shoulder. its all pretty manageable I drink protien shakes and eat yogurt. I cant wait to chew something!! lol I dream of steak or lettuce but patience is a virtue I guess.

So sorry to hear about your misfortune, I constantly have panic attacks about getting one so the fact that you can still come out of that as a positive person says a lot about your character and I only wish you success & good fortune from here! Would love to keep in touch. How tall are you? The reason I ask is because we are relatively close in weight. sleeping right now sucks for me. I can sleep on my left side gently, and then end up back on my back which has also caused me all kinds of back trouble. Can't wait to sleep in my bed! I actually was just discharged from an ER visit for dehydration. Increased pulse rate, shortness of breath, crying, freaking out, pain, etc - felt 10xs better after Fluid was administered. So now I need to push fluids CONSTANTLY. I go for a follow up on the 13th supposed to be bumped up to purées. I can only hope. Between pre & post op - I've been on liquids for 30 days. I'm literally ready to chew my fingers off - head hunger, but I'd love a piece of celery stick with Italian dressing right now. Congrats on your weight loss so far. I have been under 300# in about 5 years!

Age: 21

SW:326

Weight day before surgery(after pre-op liquid Protein diet): 303

I will weigh in on the 13th & will see how much I've lost since my surgery. I've been trying not to become attached to my scale!

I'm 5'6. My surgery day weight was 296. I started at 313. My highest weight ever. Ive hung out around 286-297 for something like 7 months and today I weighed 268.7 . I weighed myself 3 times making sure my eyes were right haha I havent seen that number in years. I was never worried about a leak either funny cause I happened to be the 1/100 who had 1. felt better today tho had refried Beans and cheese was soo yummy. Drs visit on Thursday hoping to have at least 2/3 drains removed. When do your staples get removed? Tummy is still sore, laid on my tummy gently yesterday. It was a nice relief altho I ended up sleeping on my back.

I'm a nurse too! Fortunately, I didn't have staples, just steri-strips which have me itching like crazy. I can't wait to be out of the 300s I'm so excited for you- that is a great weight loss! Glad your feeling better, I cannot wait to be off of liquids & eating something with a little consistency. I did find another Protein Shake today and it's been doing wonders for me! It's weird because just so much the smell of vanilla makes me queasy. We are very close in stats! So nice that I can keep up with someone close in range with myself & our surgeries were pretty close too!

Ask for a prescription of PPI - like Prilosec, Prevacid - I take Prevacid, I hear it also kills the hunger feeling sometimes too not sure if you are feeling hungry with it! Thanks! Support really is a blessing! Rooting for you as well, great progress!

I can't 'chug' but I can pretty much take normal sips. Sometimes, I do get a brief discomfort but I know I need to slow down then. It passes and then I'm back to normal drinking. I don't think it's that abnormal (although, this is just my opinion) unless if it were making you sick or if it was painful. I've read before some people saying they can drink pretty normal/chug/gulp but they do slow up when the time comes for soft/regular diet (mainly meat like steak) everyone is different though. I think as long as you are getting in all your fluids and don't feel pain/discomfort/nauseated you should be fine. But, if you are concerned about it - I would run it by the doctor for your own peace of mind.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
