So I guess there is no answer other than he said my boobs had to be measured wrong prior. Lol

I would guesstimate the old bras 'fit'- but weren't the proper sizing. I had this happen for a long time. I assumed I was a DDD- but I'm really a F, G or H depending on the bra.

Bra sizing help? I worked 7 years at Macy's as a specialist.

Measure around under breasts flat against skin. Old ways said add 5 inches or 3 inches...just depends..I would add 3 or 2 depending on the fit...all brands fit different..

Now with none padded bra on measure fullest part of breast.

So if I was a 35 under my breast...I would add 3 ...so I am a 38 ?

Around the fullest part of my breast measure 42 . Take fullest part of breast minus the band size .

42-38 is 4

Every inch is a cup

1 inch A

2 inch B

3 inch C

4 inch D

5 inch DD

6 inch DDD

7 inch E

Etc...

So 38 D is my base size

Remember this is not exact...depends on breast tissue and where is.

Olga runs small...Bali is pretty true to size..so maybe start with Bali/Barely There or Maidenform (same company) . Only take in 3 different styles same size ...this is your base bra.

Try on 38D

Fits around perfect but cup big? go to 38C

Or cup small 38 DD

Here is the tricky part where mistakes are made.

A 38D Cup fits perfect in cup but to loose around?

Drop down in band to 36 but go up in cup to DD .

These are all technically same cup size

32 e

34 ddd

36dd

38d

40 c

42b

So when people say I am a DD it means nothing a 42 DD is 5 cup sizes bigger than a 32 DD

Depending on brand I can have 3 different sizes. If you love a bra and do not have in your size say 38D ...try on a 36DD and 40C ...the cup should be close in size but the bands will be tighter or loser.

Also look in the mirror..if your breast tissue is more under your arms toward you sides then you want a full figured/fit bra which doesn't mean large. Most stores carry the same bra in two sections. A 36C in Full Figure will be a little wider in cup to cover breast tissue spilling out. Also sometimes the strap is more supportive. So if you try it on in regular fit and you spilling out under arms then ask if the have same bra in full figured or now called Full Fit.

Last thing . You must have 3 nice bras. One you wear...one you wash and one you rest. Bras have a memory in elastic. For the fit to return after you wash let it rest for 3 days so the memory can go back. You should hand wash or at least fold in half and put in bra bag or old nylon if using machine so it doesnt get pushed and pulled.

The number one rule HANG DRY. Never ever put in the dryer...the minute you do...you just ruined the fit of the bras memory so you wasted your time reading this and do not wear more than 3 days ...it damages the memory. So u wear one ..wash one and rest one for 3 days then rotate....good luck!

I have bras that I have worn for along time and fit and look new by taking care of them...this is the best time to make sure your bra does not lose its fit and they start dropping mandi

I think I should add the reasons some bras have seems... and there is reasons for each kind. Yes you can see under certain clothes but seems give you a better lift. I actually pulled this off a site and wrote a little note under...

There are several seamed cup variations:

Horizontal seams - This seam design tends to give a more projected and slightly conical shape to the cup.

Think Jane Russell ..you see this in playtex boxed bras..lilyette bras...larger breasted women love this seem for great support but it is a little pointy

Vertical center seams - More commonly found in demi or balconette cup shapes, this vertical center seam is very supportive and gives an uplifting effect to the breasts.

These bras are pretty ..but you tend to overspill after wearing during the day or bending over

Transversal seams - This seam type is arched or curved in shape, and thus gives a more rounded shape to the breast tissue while also being very supportive.

I like this seem Felina and Wacoal bras are like this ..pricey but my two favorite...

Diagonal Seams -provide support. c

entering and lift to the breasts. And the diagonal design (generally starting low in the center and getting higher at the sides) also gives a very flattering appearance to the wearer

Same as above...another favorite shape

Now..minimizer bras...I also like...my favorite fitting bra is a wacoal minimizer ..it is ivory with lace on cup. But....pricey not sure $ now but $70-$90 range. But if you baby this bra it is worth every penny if it is a good fit for you.

Minimizer bras are shallow cups ..but the breast tissue has to go somewhere so it pushes under arms

I was a 40g pre-surgery. I'm 3.5 months out and a 38g. I come from a long line of big boobed women- I was a DD in 6th grade (when I was still of normal size!!). I have breastfed two kiddos and I will breastfeed a third one eventually. So- I will wait for that to be done and I will definitely need some work done :)

Omg...we are twins! I thought I was the only youngster with huge boobs in middle school. I was a DD as well and am a G now also. No one in my school had boobs like me! I had to get that out! Thanks for sharing!

Im thankful for this thread.. I'm only one month post op but my tits aren't deflating like I expected. I started out at a 40H and although my band size is shrinking, my twins aren't. My stomach and waist are slimming down really well but now I'm starting to look like im carrying balloons.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
