Band Repair -Xpost

:-S

Well. There's nothing like waiting until the last minute! I JUST got

approval from my insurance company for my surgery in the morning.

arghhhhhhh!

It's not enough to be nervous about surgery itself, but you gotta be

on pins and needles about whether insurance is gonna pay too?

So, tommorrow morning I have an EGD and surgery to repair my band

slippage. I asked the doc about putting in at least half the fill

that I had when they un-filled it and he said no. :-( He reasoned

that since I had already had the slippage, he didn't want to set the

stage for it to happen again before proper healing time. I guess

that's reasonable, but Dr. Maese was the one who suggested it.

I'm not looking forward to this, but I am ready to get back on track

losing the rest of this weight.

Wish me luck, send good thoughts, pray! I need all the help I can

get!

Leatha: Glad to hear you are home. I was beginning to get concerned that we had not heard from you. Morphine does that to patients it is one of it's side effects. Demerol is also a bad drug for causing nausea and the headaches. We typically give an anti nausea med with any sedative drug. But oh well.

I am soooooooooooooo happy that you are home and ready to start anew.

Keep us posted.

Thanks Penni!.. You touch my belly and I'll have to kill you! lol.. This surgery was actually worse than the first. lol. I have a killer bruise here. Better than Darcy's I think.

OH OH OH OH we want to see it. Post a pic.

Lethalwoman, I'm so glad that you're home and doing well! Just think, you got 2 things fixed for the price of 1! Getting the hiatal hernia fixed should also help you feel better, big time. When I got my band, the dr. also removed my gallbladder, several abdominal adhesions, and a benign tumor (I didn't know I had) right above the band placement. I was sent home with an abdominal drain for a week (an extra puncture). So I felt like I really got my money's worth. Please take it easy and keep us posted.

Leatha!!!

So glad you're back, and everything went well, knife fight scars and black eye not withstanding... :)

May your recovery be speedy and uneventful!!

Well. I don't know how this turned out at 4:40am, but I can't compete in the bra thing just yet. lol. There's no way I could put a bra on right now. This thing is right on my ribcage and it HURTSSS!! :sick

I hope it's not too unclear and huge, but I'm no good with the photo stuff..

We'll see.

Oh, that looks absolutely awful!!! I love these little trophy photos - we'll have to have some prize categories in Vegas... lol

Heal fast, my friend!

Thanks Darcy!

That's a good one, isn't it? I had nothing of the kind with my first surgery. I'm still not too sure why I had to have this one? lol. Worst part is that it's right on the bottom of my rib cage and I think sometimes it's spasming? It seems like it tightens up right on the bottom of my rib cage and is really uncomfortable. Getting up and down from the bed or couch is very very hard. I'm hoping today will be a better day. I wound up sleeping on the couch most of the night because it's just too hard to get off the bed. :think

I'm sure hoping he didn't stitch this thing to my ribcage. :)
