Hello. Just wondering if the Men in the 40;s to 50;s range are in the process of getting the sleeve or have It already. I am 49 , about 290, waiting to get sleeved around June. What your experience with this, bad and good. I know the women and Men having forma of weight loss, but womens oppinions are welcomed also.

Just got my sleeve in Dec. I'm 47 and started at 372 lbs. I didn't have any complications, but it wasn't a pain free recovery or as quick, like some have had. I am very happy with my sleeve and would do it all over again in a sec.

I'll be 45 in a couple of months. I was sleeved on January 17. I started at 405lbs, I lost 23lbs on the pre op diet and I'm down 40 since surgery. I haven't had any problems, which is great. I'm happy with my choice to have this done. Good luck with what ever choice you make.

46 here. Sleeved 07/08/2011. You can see all of my stats in my signature if you are viewing this through a browser (not a mobile device).

Unbeknownst to me, I also had a hiatal hernia repair during the surgery, which was the source of some additional post-operative discomfort. Nothing terrible, but swallowing was just funky for about 2 weeks. As I was taking in only liquids, it wasn't a big deal.

I have been at goal for almost a year, now, and it has been a rollercoaster of emotion, for sure. It is a new life for me. One I did not fully grasp until I was in the middle of it.

My only regret is not having done it sooner. Sleeve was also the best choice for me out of all the WLS procedures. Good Luck!

I'm 60 yrs. old (61 in July '13) Had my surgery Jan. 22. Started Pre-Op diet at 267.5. Lost about 12 pounds during 2 week pre-op. I weighed 223.5 this morning (-44 lbs) I have no problem with eating. Having to get use to eating slower and not planning my life around cooking/eating. I feel great except for a nagging backache that I understand comes with the weight loss sometimes. Hoping that goes away soon. My goal is to get to 190 pounds....maybe 185, but I have not weighed that little since the late 70's. I was on many different meds for high blood pressure (since 1979), diabetes and I also suffered from sleep apnea. I have been medication free since the day of my surgery. I can't believe it! My BS and BP are both normal and my wife says I don't snore like before the surgery. Wished I had done this sooner.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
