I've never wanted to pass gas so bad in my entire life. Im on day 3 post op and I'm beyond miserable!!!!!! Even when walking I might get a couple of burps out I know the gas isn't leaving like it needs to. I use the gas x strips and walk around the house every hour. I've yet to pass a single fart. I'm feeling like crap. I need help!!!! Advice please!!!!!

I wasn't able to pass gas either, I don't think it will come out that way since there's plenty of room in the intestines - with no food in there.

For me, it all came out as burps. All I can say is walk as much as you can and when you lay down, occasionally switch positions, that helped get the burps moving.

I was sleeved 2/20. I only started passing gas last night. Before they it was really dissatisfying little burps. I still have pain in my chest, which is telling me there is still gas in there. Walking and time are all that help. It will happen.

That's another thing I haven't had a bowel movement since the morning of my surgery. I guess it's from such a low intake. I'm going to try the enema because walking is only giving me very small burps and my shoulders are killing me. It's hard to relax and sleep.

I used the gas x strips and within 20 minutes I was having no trouble at all passing it. I too was miserable.

Don't you have to pass gas or have a bowel movement before they let you leave the hospital? I'm still pre-op but for both of my csections they told me I couldn't leave until I at least passed gas.

I was up an urinating on my own. So they discharged me. Since I was on clears both the day before and during my hospital stay a BM wasn't required as I did have anything solid to eliminate. As far as the gas, since I was burping they weren't concerned that I hadn't farted.

I was sleeved 12/10 and all I did was burping the first week. I never passed gas until a week or a week in a half postop.

No it was necessary because I was burping regularly. Today has been much better finally had a bm and passed gas. Never been so happy to do those things in my life.

I tried the strips and the chewables they only caused me to vomit, especially the chewables.

Only things that helped me was sleeping sitting up and walking almost every hour. It's such a relief to no longer have the pains

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
