You guys are the first people I "visit" each morning and the last ones each night. Even though we don't know each other we are still connected in what we're going through together! I would also like to comment that there is another monthly bandster thread out there that is not getting along at all! There is so much negativity that it can't be positive thing for a newbie wanting answers to look forward too! Thank you all again for giving me a warm, pleasant, honest place to visit on a daily basis!!!

Have a good day and congratulations to all the new bandsters!

Day 2 post op....

I feel so much better after sleeping last night. Needless to say, I did not sleep very well in the hospital Monday night. My back is still hurting, but the heating pad is doing wonders. My mom spread Bengay all over my upper back before I went to bed last night and that helped a ton too. I woke up once or twice because I realized I rolled over onto my stomach -- oops!

Still no gas or incision pain. I'll count myself lucky there. I have been taking Tylenol with codeine every 6 hours, so I'm sure that's helping.

Yesterday I barely managed to get 42oz of liquids in. And that was with sipping something constantly! I'm getting an earlier start today, so hopefully I'll get to 64oz at least. And to whoever mentioned those Imagine Soups --- they are wonderful!

Ugh... can't wait to take a shower today! LOL!

Maria

Sounds like you are doing great!!! I loved my heating pad too!

I actually put a sipper bottle at my night stand so i can get started first thing or else it is hard to get it all in!!!

I'm sorry!!! I had felt like that with a previous thread, so before I had the January thread, I created my own little thread, the Lower BMI bandsters! Maybe you can make a thread for Banded Guys!

I am sorry if I didn't answer your questions, it was nothing personal!

Take care and you are welcome to stay!

Hey all.

I went for my cardiac tests in December, Nuclear Stress, EEG, so on and so forth. Dr. B (the cardiologist) wanted me back in his office on 1/10 to read me the results. They don't have late hours, so that means more time off work. I called the office and asked if he could just call me on the phone for results, since I knew I'd be out of the office upcoming. Sure enough, he called me, all was fine. He said "You'll have your clearance". GREAT, right? No…not so 'right'. Turns out I called the office last week, as I've been feeling a bit dizzy or lightheaded. I've gotten on some more meds the last month or so - and was also taking some OTC meds for a sinus infection. No biggie, right? WRONG! The nurse went onto tell me that I won't be able to have surgery on 1/30 until he give me clearance. Huh? I called my surgeon - and sure as anything - the doctor NEVER mailed in my clearance. So now they have me by the 'b*lls' (you know what I mean). So NOW…I have to take time off of work tomorrow - anyway…to go into see the doctor. He wants to take my vitals. If all is good, I'll have the clearance. The kicker is this: the nurse told me that the clearance was in my file - just never mailed!!!!!!!!!!! I am livid! I know he's just trying to 'save his butt'…but come on!!!!!!! So now, I have to wonder if my Tuesday surgery will happen or not. I'm sick over it. BTW, I stopped the OTC pills - and haven't been dizzy at all.

So sorry you feel that way. We don't mean to leave anyone out.....and please don't think it's because your a guy! Most of the posts never say the gender of a person. Please ask again, I'll try to answer, went back a few pages and the only post I seen from you didn't have any questions. Please feel free to stay but if you choose not to then we'll still be praying for a safe surgery and quick recovery.

Lisa.

Congrats Edieday, don't forget to take pictures too! I'm only a week post op but I've been told that when the scales don't show a loss you can see a change in pictures! Will be thinking of you this week.

I am sorry! My surgery was postponed too and it was hard on me. I was depressed about it. Then, I used the extra time to study as much as I could to learn about the banding and all the mental stuff that goes with it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
