January Bandsters???

Recommended Posts

I had a headache on my pre op too. I wonder if its the lack of carbs. I had already suffered the caffiene withdrawal headaches a few weeks before. Wonder when we can drink caffeine again.? Anyone know?

Welcome all the new January bandsters!!!!

Wow, we keep rolling in!!!!

The gas will get better. The first 3 days were my hardest. Don't forget to drink your Water or you will feel real out of it and it made me have hunger pangs!

I feel ok. Alot of gas. My stomach muscles hurt but I can't tell why. Must be the port but my port is in a different place the pain is. I am not sure I have had enough to get backed up but it doesn't feel like it when I drink.

They have to move a lot around to get in there. If you watched the video of the operation, you'd know why. It will get better!!! A heating pad feels great too! Audree

any sugestions for left shoulder pain. So far, that is my only problem. It hurts so bad sometimes I could cry. If I take a deep breath and hold it, the pain goes away but I can't keep holding my breath lol.

banded Jan.8th by Dr. Ortiz (what a cutie pie!)

I'm excited of course, but a bit nervous as well. I take inspiration from all the recent bandsters who are posting that they came through well.

I guess the main thing for me is the fact that I haven't told hardley anyone. Usually I would ask my church and friends to pray for me and it has given me comfort to know that I have their prayers. I TOTALLY believe in the power of prayer. And now I don't have that and I'm kinda scared.

Hang in there! I will say a prayer for you and Im sure others will too! I didnt want to tell anyone either...I just wanted to lose the weight and have people truely notice it on their own. But I have 3 kiddos and I lost my own mother when I was 6, so I ended up telling some people so in case of disaster, they can let my kiddos know how much I love them. Worse case scenerio, really...So, whatever your reason for not sharing, just know that there are people out there who are praying for you!

I was banded on the 9th at NWWLS in Everett, and so far it has been a good recovery.

The toughtest part of the operation for me was when they delivered the antibiotics through an IV before going in. They said there may be some transient naseua, and sure enough, there was. It was like having the 2 minute flu. Scared the heck out of my huibby. After that, they took me into the surgery room and put an oxygen mask over my face and said, "This is just oxygen right now but in a minute we will be giving you the anethetic and....(fade to black)"

They discovered a hiatel hernia while they were operating and repaired it (explains the acid reflux). That was the only thing out of the ordinary.

Today is my first day back at work and so far so good.

Wow SeattleEBet - surgery on mthe 9th and back to work already?! Very impressive. I had mine done on the 10th and was wiped out after going to get my hair colored yesterday!

Glad you are doing so well!:clap2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
