Texarkana Bandsters

I would like to hear from some Texarkana Bandsters about their experiences. re: doctors, pre and post surgery, and how things are going for them now. I am considering the lap band.

Way to go sunlight and keep hanging in there! We're going to do the yard sale thing tomorrow!

Thanks guys for all the encouragement...

I am working on losing about 10-15 lbs before school starts (Aug. 1st)...don't know if I can or not, but going to try...

I haven't been walking like I need to...rain and being so busy has kept me from getting in much walking...

I am going to start tomorrow (VBS all day today) trying to get in about 4-5 miles a day...(only been doing about 1 mile a day)

I think if I boost my exercise, my weight will come off more...certainly not eating too much, that is for sure...sometimes I think I may either have something lodged or just simply too tight...about 1/4 cup is all I can get down and sometimes that doesn't go down easy...

oh well...

I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing better. And that the pounds are coming off! I go back to Dr. H on the 16th and I'm not gonna weigh until then. I can tell I am losing because I can wear capris that were too small.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Way to go Priss. Keep us posted.

Hey everyone else! How are yall this morning?

Sunlight, glad to here you are feeling better. Hang in there, you will get to eat mushies soon.

Yall have a good day!

lisa

Lisa G i hope you have a great day to.

I am a 50 year old mother of 3 and grandmother of 9 that has been married to the same man since 1973. I would like to know more about you all too. I live at the big town of Dierks. lol And like i said i love yard sailing, hunting, fishing, and riding a 4-wheeler. I am going to ask when i can start riding again thursday. I go to church every time i can.

You all are in my prayers!

Hello Sunlight. So glad you are feeling better. That was too bad you had to get sick when you had surgery. No time is a good time, but certainly not as soon as you had surgery. Wed. will be a glorius day! haha. Creamy foods have never tasted so good until you have been on liquids for four weeks! Just take it easy, you are still healing. When do you get your fill? You will be on liquids the rest of that day, and mushies the next. Then back to solids. Guess you are still taking your meds regularly? Take care and enjoy your mushies!

Good mornin to everyone! Hope everyone is doing ok this mornin. You too Susan. I see you!!! lol

I knew this would happen. I wish I had gotten a small fill on the 19th. I'm looking for something to eat. It doesn't help much that we have to stay in the house!! :P This is gonna be a long 3 weeks. Yall pray!!!

Yall have a Happy 4th of July. I think we are going to six flags. Don't that sound fun? Wanna go? Catch us if you can. lol I'm gonna ride everything my son rides. He is just as much a dare devil as I am. Dad gets sick, so it's up to me to be the dare devil's side kick. So....wish me luck. Hope I don't get sick. That would not be fun!

Good morning everone!

Lisa, what do you mean you are going to have to stay in the house for three weeks? I must have missed something. I know what you mean about the munchies. I am starting to have some of those attacks. I can tell a difference with this fill, that is for sure. I don't eat so much at one sitting, but I am getting hungry before next meal time. I need to by healthy munchies, low calorie too. Got suggestions?

Sunlight how are you? Infection gone? I sure hope so. Tomorrow is the big day isn't it? Cream potatoes? mmmmm.

TX Hogwild, how's it going? Got the surgery scheduled?

Vlynn, how's it comming on the personal goal?

Hopeful church, where are you?

Sugarbear, it's raining...... I can't get away from the kitchen. It's three weeks until I can get a fill. No one has tied me up in the house, I just can't get outside and do anything.......FOOD is staring me in the face everytime I walk thru the house. Besides, I'm not an inside person anyway. I HAVE CABIN FEVER!!!!!

lisa

Here's another one of those dumb questions:

When you find a food that doesn't agree with your band, what are your symptoms? Is it always PBing and sliming or can you have a bloated, uncomfortable feeling? I had a SMALL piece of a mashed canned peach today with lunch and haven't felt right since. I havn't PB'd yet or slimmed, but have had a part of a scrambled egg hung at the beginning of mushies.

I start solids tomorrow, what were y'all's first foods?

Lo2us, sometimes something hot will help that hung up feeling. I have not pb'd but have done the hung up thing a couple of times. The first thing I do is walk around, get out of a sitting position. When it came to solids, I was pretty chicken at first. I stuck to veggies the first day or two. Which, if chewed well, is just a mushie. I tried ground meat for my first meat, then chicken. Then I found out anything worked for me, if chewed well. Each day I got braver. There isn't anything I can't eat....so far. I think steak may be a little difficult but I seldom eat it. I am more of a fish/chicken eater, if I eat meat. I do like a good hamburger once in a while. I think my first real food was Chinese, then Mexican. I have had some pasta, like speghetti, but haven't been out for pasta like Carino's or Olive Garden. I hear the bread at Olive Garden is a no-no. So far i can eat about anything. I guess there are some things I haven't tried yet. My worst problem is when I am really hungry, I tend to eat to fast, or too much. Too much is uncomfortable and gives me that bloaty feeling.

Hope everyone is enjoying their 4th of July!

Susan, nope, I haven't washed away......yet. I saw my dogs with scuba gear yesterday. lol The ducks are definately roosting in trees. lol

lo2us, when you slime, you will definately know it. It's gross and I won't go into details, but I promise you will know. My first solids were chicken, and green beans. Hamburger was on the list also. Just rember to chew well.

lisa

Hi to all and hope you have had a great 4th.

I am feeling so good now! I am a new woman! lol

I am still taking my meds and will until they are gone.

My mother-in-law cooked dinner for us. I had a small hamburger pattie, baked beans, potatoe salad and deviled eggs. Dont worry, i chewed and chewed and chewed. I did not know that you had to chew hamburger so much, i guess in the past i just swalled it down. lol This was probably not the best meal to start on mushies, but i did chew it very good and did not eat that much. It did not take that much to fill me. Tonight i think i will have a yogurt for supper.

I go for check up tomorrow at one, and hope i am not in trouble for what i did eat today. We (my mother-in-law) are going shopping before my appointment.

Hello all...hope your holiday was a good one...

As usual, we went to my mother-in-laws and ate lunch...always find myself wanting to try EVERY thing, but only able to eat a little...so tempting...she is an excellent cook and always fixes things that I don't normally fix at home for my own family...

Billy and I have stepped up on our walking...we have walked 4 miles a day all week...I think I feel better than I have in a long time...not going to weigh til the end of the week to see if it has done any good...we'll see. Billy is at a stand still, but he doesn't stress over it like I do, so it is really no big deal to him...wish I had that kind of easy-goingness...(is that a word?)

Lisa, BEEN THERE DONE THAT...(on not getting a fill, then wishing I had)...hang in there...Billy and I go in the 16th...this will be #4 for me, #2 for him...

Sunlight...careful with the meat...not sure that it's really considered a mushie even when you chew really well...

Well, gonna go try and swim out to my raspberry vines and see if I can salvage them...they have fallen over, the ground is so wet, that they are getting up-rooted...

You ladies take care and KEEP LOSING!!!!
