Sorry I didn't post the new support group dates for October this weekend. :o

I ended up getting some SmartLipo laser lipolysis done on my abs and love handles this weekend, and was so excited about it I forgot about updating the website. (Dr. Keilin did my procedure for me so I got a discount! Sort of... It's her birthday this week, and that always means jewelery.)

At tonight's support group in Texarkana, Betty gave away a door prize; a copy of the book "Walk Away the Pounds" that includes a DVD. We have a few more copies and will give them off our blog page again, as in our prior contests. This time we will wait about a week to give away the book, so that people in the Mt. Pleasant support group can hear about it and log on to the blog.

Remember, holidays are coming up, and we all need to get in the habit of making exercise a routine part of our lives.

Don't forget to check the blog page for general info, and the contest! I'll update the seminar and support group schedules tonight as well.

Goodbye all.

OMG! Went to get my fill and had lost 15 pounds. That's 3 more than I thought. I almost fell off the scale! I didn't get the fill, and we're trying it out for the next 6 weeks.

Congrats Dr. H! I will be looking into the smartlipo/skin removal myself after another 50lbs. I hope your results are great!

Congrats Dr. H and HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. K.

lO2US is dropping weight like hot butter of a roll. I missed a month at the meeting and when I saw her walk in I thought OMG ! She is looking great. I saw several at the meeting that are doing fantastic!

I went back to the doc today and I am healing well. Got to skip the second cast! I am in a Gait Boot. I am still not allowed to walk for three more weeks, then I can bear weight as tolerated. We will be going on vacation then, so I hope it goes well. You guys are really doing great! Those tickers are really moving. I hope mine will too, soon. Oh, went to the Ironwood grill today for lunch, it was great!

Dr. K I hope you get a "nice" stone of your choice.

great news on the loss. thank you Lisa. I made it home in time to watch that wild cowboy game. I was nervous for my first fill today but it was over quickly. I got the wierdest hiccups tonight after drinking a Protein Shake. It made me laugh and I HOPE I never do that in public. They were so strong and LOUD. LOL. Hope my scales start moving again. Good luck everyone on losing lots this week.

Teresa, I do that too. They can be embarassing. But I just smile, nod my head and whisper, "Sorry". But in my mind, l'm laughing. I had one little church lady glare at me a few Sundays ago. I mean she really glared! Then I got tickled and started hiccuping louder.

Good news Sugarbear. Glad to hear you don't have to wear another cast. Maybe soon, you will be able to get around better.

Yall have a good day!

Good luck today Arkie! Remember, walk, walk, walk.....move, move, move. That is a must in getting rid of that air that is soooo uncomfortable.

Teresa..What a game!

Lisa, still no weight bearing, 3 more weeks, then, as tolerated. At least it is comming to an end.

good luck arkie! Yes, walk, walk, walk ! It sure helped me and it got me going on my daily walking to lose weight. I started walking about an hour after I got home from surgery.

sugarbear - that was the best and worst game ever. I am so GLAD they won !!!!! three weeks ? Bless your heart.

I THINK I felt a little restriction this morning, I had drank coffee first but later when I started eating scrambled eggs I must have forgot to chew, chew, chew, hiccups started then I did feel an odd feeling throat down... Then it went away and I ate my eggs. This is really a learning experience. I needed something to slow my eating down. I am ready for the weight to start falling again ! 6 weeks is a long time to wait for a fill. Did anyone get a good result the first time? Still LEARNING, thanks for you answers to my questions. Anyone have the small ap band? I asked but I was not told how much was put in my band, the "appropriate" amt he said. I know it doesnt matter how much is in there if it keeps me from being hungry. I see amts on here and it makes me wonder how much is in mine too. :rolleyes

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
