Texarkana Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Mine is scheduled at Wadley. When I was a Dr. H's office one of the girls ask me which hospital I wanted it done at. I don't know why if they aren't doing it at St. Micheals. But, my insurance says I have to have mine done at Wadley. What ever they say, that's where I will go. Know what I mean?

Thanks for letting me know bout the meetings. I will already have my band when I get to come to the one in January. (aw-right)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I spoke with Betty @ Presicision Surgery and the support meeting is @7:00 P.M. January 8th. I will have my :notagree sleep study done at Texarkana that night so I won't be able to attend. :faint:

good luck, wanna be thin with the sleep study. That is one of the most interesting nights you will spend. I had mine done at Dr. Bailey's office. He is awsome! I will be attending the support group meetings that are held in Mt. Pleasant since I live about 12 miles or so from the hospital there. I don't think they are that close to the first of the month. Anyway, Hope you do well on the sleep study.:notagree

Thanks Lisa G!

I have never had a sleep study done. I'm sure it will be interesting. I usually don't have any trouble sleeping, but I'm always tired:bored . I think that is because I only get about 6 to 7 hrs of sleep on a normal night. My insurance doesn't require the sleep test but the doctor does. I wonder how anyone else thinks before they get the lap band. I don't feel like my normal self. I think about the band way toooo often I know. It's all I talk about. I think my emotions are mixed up because of it. I used to hardly ever cry now I catch my self crying alot:think . I think I'm too overwelmed.... I don't know! Just wondered if this is normal?

I think the emotional thing is pretty much normal. I have read a lot of people have the same feelings. I know, I think about getting my band alot, but I also think it because it will be a whole new life. Kinda scary, yes, but also exciting to be healthy, active, and slim again. Being overweight just is not part of my life and I know it will change when I get my band. I am very excited to begin that new life. And about the sleep study, I'm glad you get that much sleep per nite. I don't get but about 5 or 6 hours, sometimes 4 hours a nite. I hope that changes very soon, cause I'm just tired to the bone.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Lia G.,, I feel sure that you will be living the band life by the time January's meeting rolls around. I was banded on Wednesday, and was at the meeting on the following Monday night. I was still a bit gassy but I was there with bells on. Now my husband is going to be coming with me and my sister. He is scheduled for Jan. 31 so he needs to get in the habit. Keep me posted as to how things go. Mizboo

Thank you Susan for the prayers. And I was very good up until Santa blackmailed me into that sugar cookie in the middle of the night. I was so proud of myself. I stayed on my diet all day and was very good. I guess I wasn't made of Iron. After my little boy went to bed, I crumbled....but boy did that little bitty cookie sure was good and I promise I only had one. lol You are absolutely right about this being hard, but I am determined not to give in to head hunger. I can't be for sure (cause Noah gave me my scales) but I think I have lost 10 to 12 lbs. I guess that's ok? Talk to you later,

Lisa G.,,,,,I sure hope that all goes great for you. If you are having it at Wadley, and you need someone to sit with you, just say so and I am sure that someone will come and be with you. I know that not everyone tells others they are going through this, and may not have a big cheering section on their surgery day, but you can be sure that there are people around who care about what you are going to do, and are there JUST FOR YOUR SUPPORT SYSTEM. I really hope this will be the start of a whole new world for you, as I know what the last almost 6 months has done to change the world I live in. If I don't see you before, we will hope to see you at support group the second Monday in January@ 7:00 pm. Mizboo

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
