FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved

Recommended Posts

I'm post op day # 2 and just got discharged from the hospital. I'm on a clear liquid diet for another day then will start my full liquid diet for 5 weeks. I am drinking no more than 2oz at a time and seem to do well with that. Only problem I have is feeling like I have swallowed a lot of air every time I drink but it passes pretty quickly.

My abd is so swollen' date=' I tried to put on a pair of regular pants but soon realized that wasn't going to work. Did anyone else have these problems?[/quote']

Yes, I tried and pants and they didnt fit. Day 10 they did tho and they were too big. Its all the swelling. I'm still in my pre op pants and I'm down 25#. But they are very comfy on my incisions so I will continue them until i just cant keep them up lol

Surgery update!

I am 27 and 5' 7.

My starting weight on Day of surgery 2/11 275lbs

Today I am 248lbs!

Yup, 27lbs since surgery. Never thought I would lose that fast but it is starting to slow down now. I have a feeling my stall is getting ready to come.

I've lost half a lb within the last week. Looks like the stall arrived. Just waiting it out at this point!

It is kind of a bummer but it's just a matter of time! Just continue to do what we do and it'll come off!

Sad thing is that these are my pre op pants. I just can't wait for the swelling to go down. Txs for the feedback. Good to know we aren't having to deal with this alone.

Same here. I stalled for almost one full week. I'm in week 3. It looks like I'm coming out of it. I dropped 3 lbs this morning.

May I go off topic for a moment? I was sleeved 2-5-13. I was on full liquids when I got home, then 1 week later they had me come in for my 2 week appt. And I was put on soft foods. I've been through the dreaded stall since then! I watch what I eat and how much. Problems are cant get in 64 oz of liquid, n I am craving caffeine folders coffee. Is it bad to have a little bit every now and then? I guess my stall is subsiding cause I noticed the scale move 9lbs in the last 4-5 days. At my 2 week I was 307 today I am 290! I'm gonna be a slow loser I hear because of hypothyroidism. I just want a little coffe! Any advice Please!!!

Check with your Dr or Nutrition, I asked and was told my one small cup in the morning won't hurt. However, it does make me have a BM within 10-15 min.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
