still struggling to get in protein after 3 mths

For the last few days I have been logging my food into MFP and realized that I'm not even coming close to 90g of protein in a day. I'm lucky to get 30. I got protein shake samples and I can't even drink a whole one and am so full after half. Should I be concerned? I've been losing fairly quickly until the last two weeks. I gained 2 lbs and haven't lost since.

My doctor told me 60 grams and yep you just have to make sure everything you eat is protein I love string cheese the mozzrella and I also do peanut butter on apples! I also eat almonds!! i sometimes do the eggs with mozzarella melted together!!! Omg you dont like greek yogurt it has so much protein and that's how i calm my sweet tooth!! try those special k protein bars they have like 10 grams and of course I eat meat meat!!!! My rule for right now is if it doesn't have protein!! I dont need it!! GOOD lUCK!!!!

Thank Doc. It's been a while' date=' I don't remember. I thought it was 90, but that doesn't make me right. :)[/quote']

It doesn't make me right either. :). I would double check with my nut. Good luck - I know getting enough Protein will be one of my biggest problems.

I was told 90-100 grams I am only 5'5

I was told to shoot for 60-70 grams (not based on height, but I am 5'5"). I shoot for a minimum 80 and can sometimes get over 100. That's counting a shake and Pure Protein bar. I don't think I could get that much by just eating. For supper tonight, I had a Morning Star Grillers veggie burger patty with a tablespoon of Famous Dave's Sweet and Zesty sauce. The patty was 130 calories with 15 grams of protein. Actually, I just checked my "totals" and I'm at 69 grams of protein with just the shake, a homemade bean and beef enchilada for lunch, and the veggie patty.

I see you don't eat Greek yogurt, but have you tried it with a bit of sugar-free pudding mix in it? It's so good!

I get most of my protein from unjury shakes. I have just been able to increase them. I ahvent tolerated protein to good. I cant eat hardly any food just a few bites

I keep Atkins bars on hand and have one in the evening if I haven't had enough protein for the day.

I haven't tried the greek yogurt with pudding mix, but I will try that too. If I could eat an entire egg, turkey burger, or even drink a whole shake, etc. I don't think I'd struggle so much to get my protein in. However, that's not reality for me. I'm not losing hair yet, so hopefully I won't. I just don't know if there is any other issues that I could have as a result?? I spent the first week post op in ICU and the third week post op inpatient too for dehydration, UTI, and kidney stones. My hubby works in the oilfield and is out of town for a month or two so, being sick is out of the question considering I don't know anyone in my town and we have two kids. :) I do take my vitamins and get B12 shots, so hopefully that's enough to make up for the lack of protein. Thanks everyone for your help!!

I like butterscotch. I measure out 8 oz. of yogurt and add in 2t of pudding mix. I eat that over the course of several hours, but I generally don't feel restriction with yogurt. I tried banana cream today and didn't like it. Tomorrow I will try pistachio. Good luck!

There is a cheesecake flavor but I hear it is bitter. Why can't they make the flan one in a sugar-free version? I bet THAT is good! :D

I am going to to try banana creme with my vanilla bean Protein powder and butterscotch with my chocolate truffle powder and PB2. Getting wild and crazy flavor ideas here with my Protein shake flavor aspirations! :) OK, not that wild and crazy, but it is time to take a short break from Cookies and creme ( my favorite!) as i have been on that for 7 months now, 2 shakes a day.
