Have you talked to you NUT about it?

Edit:

After Checking MFP: I was averaging 500 at one month.

Your nutritionist should be giving you this information. There is no set rule for the number of calories that you need to consume. A lot of factors include your current weight, your level of activity and any co-morbities. For me I am at about 800 cals at 2 months out. I average around 600 as I really don't care that much about eating and a lot of times just forget.

I was told to eat between six to eight hundred calories. Check your nutritional instructions:)

The 6-800 calories is a common level amongst those plans that provide specific numbers, and it's a good place to start. If you run on the high side (and 1000 is on the high side,) the risk is that you move into maintenance mode before you reach your goal. Your calorie burn will be declining some as you lose weight and don't have as much to carry around, so if your normal calorie burn that provided a stable weight before surgery was around 1500 calories (not an unusual number for women of lighter "should be" weight or build,) then you don't have much of a caloric deficit to drive your weight loss, and little room for the common calorie creep as you progress. I ran at about 1100 during my loss phase, but I have a guy's metabolism with fairly high lean mass and was stable at 26-2700 calories, and am now a fairly lean 185-190, so had a lot of room to play with. If your "should be" weight is in the 100-120 lb range, then you probably don't have a very high calorie burn and will need to stay on the low side of the calorie range to get all of the weight off; if you are a taller, larger build woman with a healthy weight of 150-160, then you have a bit more to play with (and be honest on your build assessment - we all are "big boned" to start with!)

I am large boned and my thin weight is about 150-160. I race walk one mile a day now but two years ago I was doing six miles a day and have most of my life so although I'm fat around my middle my legs are muscular. At 1000 calories a day on Nutrisystem I lost 3-4 lbs a week. The Dr says 1000-1200 is a good pace for maintenance. If I'm really active and walk off at least 100 calories a day I'm really consuming 900- I'm in this for the long haul and I get hungry. I will talk to My nutritionist tomorrow and ask her. Thanks for the info.

I takes to my DR and nut and at one month they said I should be eating 1200-1400 calories. He said your body needs those calories for safe weight loss. I'm eating 1000-1200 and losing so I like where I am at. I don't want to lose muscles.

I eat at least 1200-1400 a day

I burn 700 calories in cardio and another 450 lifting weights so I need my calories

I just eat healthier now

Thanks I feel like people think I eat too much but since I'm active I need 1000-1200 calories a day and my DR says that is what I need. Staying on 500-800 calories a day for months just doesn't seem healthy. I will lose slower to be healthier because that is why I had this surgery to be healthy.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
