  1. I had those symptoms and it turned out to be hyperparathyroidism. My calcium was mildly high for three years and I suffered from anxiety depression bone and muscle cramps and hot flashes and my upper chest would flush. They removed a tumor on my parathyroid ( inside my thyroid which was normal) and that was what I needed. If your calcium is elevated check your parathyroid hormone. It's more common than you'd think . And anyone with parathyroid symptoms should go to parathyroid. Com. Listen to Dr Norman he is THE expert and I found a great surgeon at Univ of Penn.
  2. I am recommitting too . I have gained back 15 lbs and am only half way to goal. I lost 70 lbs since jan 2013 but my daughter and my two grand kids moved in and I live in food hell! I tried getting her to buy differently but now I realize its me that needs to change. I started this morning and am very serious about this. I missed my one year appointment with my Dr because I feel guilty. Dumb I know. I have medical problems like lipodystrophy and sjogrens and can't exercise easily so that has really hampered my loss. Since surgery last year I've had a surgery for hyperparathyroidism and have surgery next mo to repair my right foot because its hard to walk and a semi hit me last June messing up my back one herniated disk three buldging. These aren excuses just obstacles. Ii know i could have gone to a pool but i chose to eat wrong and now I'm choosing to fix this. No more excuses.
  3. I'm the same 70 lbs approaching one year. Half way to goal :/ I am grateful for the loss and will keep trying
  4. I am so proud of you!! TIhis is not an easy road.
  5. My surgery was 1-20-13. I've lost 70 pounds but have been stuck at this weight for two months. Has anyone gone back to just liquids for awhile and has it worked?
  6. My surgery was Jan 20 this year. I am sure it must be reflux although I do take Prevacid for that. Thanks for all your input. I made a DR appointment.
  7. I am having pain on my left side of chest and under my left breast. It has been happening for over a week now. At first I thought it might be stress but now I am wondering why it doesn't go away. I know it is probably not a leak but curious what it feels like. Thanks!
  8. Your always an inspiration!
  9. Everyone is doing so good! Congrats!
  10. Whoa today I am 210!! 79 pounds down!! After a month stall it's coming off quick again. Never get too bummed you never know what your body will do!
  11. Wow I've lost 68 pounds since surgery on Jan 9-13!! With the ten I lost prior I've lost 78 pounds!!! I eat 1200-1500 calories a day and have not started exercising on a reg basis due to medical problems but after this Thursdays surgery I will be able to. I had almost a month stall before it started coming off agin. I don't worry about it but I weight everyday. I have eaten way too many carbs and struggle with that.I use NATURES RESEARCH brand vanilla whey because it is the only one that I think tastes good actually delicious. I can eat it off a spoon!! That's my one drink a day mixed with water that gives me 30 grams of protein then I eat one Greek Yogurt. 11 grams of protein and a cup of skim milk for 9 grams of protein. My daily protein is 50 plus whatever meat protein I eat for dinner and lunch and low fat cheese sticks. A typical lunch is ham and cheese rolled in cabbage, dinner is baked chicken with a carb side and a veggie side. Where I get into trouble is snacking on popcorn cookies like Nilla cookies and Bread. This slows my weight loss down I know but if all my protein and liquids are in I figure a little carbs is realistic if you can control it. For instance I'll eat 6 but before surgery I'd eat the whole box. So this is my struggle to control foods I know I won't live without or cold turkey those foods and find healthy substitutes. The answer seems obvious even to me but what I want and what I do are not in sync yet! Before surgery 289 day of surgery 279 Today 211 June 17. day of surgery Jan 9-13 I love my sleeve I love my new life I've lost 68 lbs in 5 months.
  12. An update pre op 289 date of surgery 279 now 215 I'm thrilled!!
  13. I was sleeved 1-9-13 was 289 preop was 279 at surgery am 215 now! I've lost 64 lbs on my sleeve I'm so happy for myself and all of you!
  14. I heard drinking a glass of crystal light helps prohibit stones from forming?Anyone else hear that?
  15. I was 289 at first Bariatric appt. I was 279 at surgery I am 215 now Was sleeved 1-9-13 I've lost 74 pounds I do not exercise much because I'm having surgery for a parathyroid tumor in two weeks and I've been really fatigued just doing regular life stuff. After surgery they say I will not be fatigued. I am really hoping so because I want to walk everyday. I cut my hair and people say I look totally different. I'm also losing a lot of hair that is why I cut my hair.It looks fuller. When I get my new PC I'll post pictures. I've been battling carbs and they win most of the time. I need to restart because I can do a lot better. The sleeve helps me feel full quickly with proteins and eat a lot less carbs then I used to. It is a great tool I love the sleeve.
