  1. cheese sticks, Greek yogurt, eggs and morning star sausage ( veggie) I also bring nuts and beef jerky.
  2. At four months I started losing hair and it is coming out constantly all over my pillow if I lay down, my car, my clothes everywhere.I've lost a lot of hair. I take my vitamins and eat enough protein but that doesn't seem to be the problem.I heard there is nothing you can do but wait it stops around the witty or ninth mo. but I really don't know. I'm taking it in stride.Hair comes back no biggie if it gets too bad I'll wear a hair piece or wig but what does matter to me is the 75 pounds I've lost.
  3. I started losing at 4 mo and now at five mo it's falling out like crazy. I eat right I think it is just something we have to deal with. I'm hoping it will stop soon!!
  4. OTR You haven given me tons of the best nutrition advise. You taught me about the differences in proteins and so much more. I am 4 mo out now and 53 lbs down since surgery (73 total). I have fallen down and picked myself up as you did. I am so happy you told us what is going on because it teaches us to be honest and human. No one who needed this surgery can change instantly and you've done fantastic. your right I am the same type of person and I needed your advise today.I will also think of good and necessary and acceptable choices and clean my diet up. I accept the falls and so getting back on track is not a shameful thing but a natural thing that everyone struggles with. I know your going to be fine. Thanks for sharing.
  5. my sleeve was Jan 9-13 and my hair really started falling out two weeks ago especially in the front. It is discouraging but I'm still glad I was sleeved. I heard it stops and then the hair comes back. Does anyone know?
  6. I heard you can get kidney stones after weight loss surgery. Has anyone else heard of this?
  7. beautiful!! Great job!!
  8. wow! Great job you look great!!
  9. Today I was rushed and ate too fast then next meal I ate too much too fast. When will I learn? it's been 3 mo since surgery and I am slacking off on the rules. I have to go back to writing it all down. surgery Jan 9-3 pre op 298 day of surgery 270 current weight 219. I've been successful so far so I need to be more diligent with what I eat, quantity and eating slower. Overall I'm really happy with my success.
  10. I'm eating 1200 a day and lost 50 lbs since Jan /9/13
  11. 1-9-13 date of surgery start weight 289 surgery date 270 current weight 220
  12. My nut and Dr said to eat 1200 calories a day as soon as possible which was about 4 weeks out. Since surgery 1-9-13 I've lost 44 lbs. I'm very happy with the rate of loss because I have very little loose skin.
  13. HW 289 SW 270 now 228 62 lbs lost since 1-9-13 I'm feeling great swimming laps for one hour three times a week No real problems
  14. Start weight 289 Sleeve weight 270 on Jan 09-13 current weight 228 Wow 61 pounds in two months and two weeks !! I don't compare my weight loss to anyone else so I am very happy with my loss so far. I am planning on at least a year to lose it all. I want to weigh 160 so I still have 68 pounds to go. This IS the best decision I ever made and I can deal with all the changes I've had to make for life. I'm grateful to everyone one on this site because you all helped me before surgery and very day since. I have learned so much from you all.Thanks.
  15. That is awesome. I just started swimming and I love it .
  16. I take one prevacid in the am and a pepsin at night.it works great and before surgery I had GERD and a few years ago barrette esophagus and it healed it so I'm a prevacid lover. now I get GERD if I eat past 7 pm. I also get a rotten food taste in my mouth.it is gross.
  17. I've had a CPAP for years and after I lost thirty pounds after the surgery the air was blowing my mouth open.It was set on 12. The air was going in my airway and making me burp over and over again! My Dr said turn it down to 10 which worked ( by the way on the Internet it tells you how to turn it down) for awhile but at 60 lb loss it was also too much air so I turned it down to 8 and like the other person I don't snore now but I sleep better with it. My Dr too won't allow me another sleep study until I have lost all my weight.
  18. Wow I've only seen your two last quotes but your angry. try to have a nice day and although you took what I said wrong I still remain firm that I wasn't trying to be judgmental and I don't understand people sometimes. I wasn't trying to be "mean" but 35 or whatever pounds in 7 weeks is a great deal of weight loss and should be celebrated. I think sometimes people hear what they want to hear when reading a text not what the person intended. This is suppose to be a site for support. If I offended someone sorry I didn't mean to now are you able to say the same? You missed my point. I've had a tough time if I can strive to be positive we all can. I am far from being a victim if anything it was the woman who spoke first. You? you just sound angry. Now I am not commenting anymore on this subject because it is getting childish. Sorry if I offended any of you now let's move on.
  19. Listen first of all I was not being a ****** just being realistic and positive. You don't know what I've been through either like 18 mo of Chemo and having my son committing suicide two years ago. I wrote the message not because I am sunshine and rainbows but because life is TOUGH and while weight loss is very important is not how fast you lose it but that you lose it. Sitting around worrying and getting discouraged is not healthy and I KNOW this because I have had to look forward past diversity and LEARN how to be more positive and put things into perspective so before you attack me listen to what I am saying Don't worry Do your best it is good enough Don't put too much pressure on yourself and give yourself a break AND Be patient if your doing everything right EVENTUALLY you will lose it and if not go back to your NUT or DR and figure out why but spending time getting down on yourself and comparing yourself to others DOES NOT HELP YOU. It is ok to say I wish I could lose faster or what can I do to help myself further and it's ok to be discouraged but in the long run it is you and only you that can be positive and love yourself. We are here for support and it is supportive to say what I did. Take it as one persons opinion and don't call someone a ******
  20. I really don't understand people. We were extremists when it came to food and eating and then we have surgery to help correct our lives and then people complain about the rate of weight loss which is just another extreme. Relax if your eating right and eating 1000-1200 calories a day YOUR BODY WILL LOSE THE WEIGHT!! Try to be grateful for everyday and focus on something other than weight loss like eating right and exercising and enjoying things we could not before. Celebrate every pound loss. So what if we lose a pound a week? It is a loss. It is extreme to believe we will lose it all quickly. It takes a year or more. Try to learn patience and how to be more moderate.
