Little over six months after surgery

When will my hair stop falling out? Handfuls and handfuls...I was dealing with it ok but I thought it was supposed to stop at around 6 months. I'm past that and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. I'm getting depressed! I'm taking all my vitamins, special shampoos...everything I know. My nurse practitioner gave me the phone number of a dermatologist that specializes in female hair loss, but her website talks about how her medicines "may cause liver damage." When can I expect it to stop falling out and start growing back?

I have been taking biotin 5000mg 2 times a day - I am 7 months post opt as of the 4th. My hair is still coming out but not as much as it was in the 4th and 5th month.

Yep, how is your protein? You can take vitamins, biotin, etc but if your protein isn't where it needs to be you will have the hair loss. :(

I'm grateful that I'm not experiencing hair loss...but I am getting in at least 50-60 grams of protein daily...

I have heard of hair loss lasting until 9 months. Mine is still falling out, one hair at a time at 7 months. It was much worst month 3-6.

Thanks everyone. I guess I just have to be patient. I'm healthier than I was, even if my hair is falling out! I was afraid I'd lose it all, so it's good to know it will stop...one day! I just ordered some Isopure to help me get in all my protein. I haven't tried them, so I'm hoping I like them. I struggle getting in all my protein bc I get so full! Thanks again! :)
