How do you exercise on 800 calories a day?

Recommended Posts

I want to exercise but am scared. Dont laugh at me, Im afraid I'll pass out. I eat 800 calories a day and feel weak all the time(6 weeks out). I also dont want allot of loose skin after I lose all the weight. If you do exercise how many calories do you eat a day? what types of exercise do you do? for how long? should I increase my calories so I can exercise?Any tips about this will be apreaciated :) Love this website

I am six weeks out as well with Dr A. ;) I walk. I am not a strenous exerciser, but I do walk away the pounds, a 1,2 or 3 mile walk. I find I don't have a lot of stamina so I do what I can and Im working my way up. I am starting Turbo Fire this month and I try to keep up as best as possible. Make sure you're getting in your Vitamins and your Protein and email Dr A with any questions or issues. He may suggest something that will help! I just emailed him this morning about something. ;)

I am 6 weeks out and I exercise about an hour a day 6 days a week. I feel great and I am not rigid about counting every calorie but I do carefully count my Protein and rigid about my Vitamin intake. I get 80-100g of protein per day and about 1,200 calories. Just start slow and try to increase each time. Just like everything else in this process, each day it gets easier! Good luck to you!

I'm three weeks out and I walk a mile a day on the treadmill at 3 MPH. At first I was light headed but it went away. I do two half mile walks if I'm not up to a whole mile at once. Even three ten minute walks is better than nothing. Start walking more and I think you'll see it gets better.

I exercise about 2 hours a day. Once in the morning, walk during my 1/2 hour lunch, walk in the evening with the wife, one day a week I add a basketball game in the evening. I'm usually at a negative net calorie everday. I eat about 650-730 calories a day. I know it sounds crazy but I have never lacked energy.

Also I do get in all my Protein. Mostly Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, super milk ( that's what I call skim milk with dry milk in it!!), and lean hamburger and quality Protein. I eat about 1000 calories a day. I have lost 22 lbs in three weeks and I'm healthy. In the long run a 1000 calories a day is a fraction of what we used to eat. I figure the more fuel for my body the better it can work to burn the fuel ( fat). Don't stress about this all that will make your body only hold on to fat. Relax go with the process dont stress. If you can only do twenty minutes then do it and eat more and work up to it. We worked SOOOO hard to get here so enjoy it. Enjoy the sensations and feelings of a changing new you. And I always take my Vitamins because if we don't eventually we will get very I'll . I've seen it before in friends. Just follow your DRs directions and feel your way through. You will be great!!

All good advice here. One of my objections to the operation was that I thought I would be fainting all of the time. I had got dizzy a number of times earlier in my life during training times and diets.

It never happened. I was amazed how little I could eat and still feel good. I had read about some folks who eat less than 1000 calories a day their whole life and are healthy. Thinking back I believe my dizziness was more dehydration than lack of food.

I'm almost 7 weeks post op. I exercise for about 2 hours 3-4x a week and I burn about 900 calories while doing so. I just started lifting weights too. I eat about 1,000 calories a day and I drink Water. I take Vitamins, and B12 sublingual helps a lot.

Surprisingly, I've only felt really tired twice after moving to soft foods. I think it all depends on the person. I feel normal, almost like I did pre-op. Just take it slow and increase your exercise slowly to see how you feel

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
