Headache! 1st day Pre-Op Clear Liquids

Hey all. This is my first day of the pre-op Clear liquids only diet. I have a headache growing. Of course I cannot take Advil/Tylenol... did you have this and how did you combat it?

Thanks!

Totally normal, especially if you have given up caffeine as part of the pre-op diet plan. I felt a little flu-like initially, but I always felt that way (first few days) everytime I started a low carb diet.

I had such a tough time pre-op and slipped a little but post op is definitely easier!

It might be low sugar, my dr recommended a couple swigs of some juice to get it back up if I was feeling like that. I did a little yesterday because of the headache but tonight I'm doing ok. Really not enjoying this preop, hoping for better things on the other side.

You can't take Advil but Tylenol should be okay for the headache.

Juny, for me, it's SO much easier post-op. I think it's because it doesn't feel like a diet AND I haven't experienced hunger yet. Hang in there, it's worth it!

Thanks all! I will try the juice and a good night of rest.

If you need something OTC for pain, CVS actually has liquid Tylenol in Adult strength. If you can't find it, you can use children's Tylenol, chewable or liquid.
