One Week Post Op!

And I've lost exactly 14 pounds! I seriously can't believe it! I went in as a lightweight starting at 215.4 on surgery day (was 221 pre op and lost about 6 lbs on pre op diet) and this morning, exactly one week after surgery with Dr. Garcia I weighed 201.4! So exciting! I assumed since I was a lightweight I would lose slower, so I am thrilled with the results so far. I am anticipating a stall soon since I know one around three weeks happens to like 90% of people, but I okay with that :)

I'm still doing Clear liquids including clear Protein drinks, but tomorrow I start full liquids. I have a bunch of sugar free pudding to make tonight and unflavored whey protein isolate to mix into it. I will NOT be sad to say good riddance to the blitz clear protein and Isopure RTD, OMG. They were tolerable pre-op when I tried them, but post op they are just gross.

I'm wishing you guys so much success and please feel free to PM me with any questions you may have going forward. I will probably post more often on the post-op board now.

Lauren

Thanks Mike! And congrats on the weight loss! You are doing awesome! How are you feeling so far? I haven't started any solids yet...the Protein shakes really fill me up. I still haven't met 64 oz Water in a day either...although today I'm only 8oz away!

Hey lauren,

I am actually doing really good. I am surprised at how much I can drink. I have no issues getting my water or protein in everyday. I am not following the post-op diet either which is kinda bad I guess but I feel great with what I am eating and have no issues keeping it down,. As soon as I got home I started with blended Soups with homemade broths to thin them out. I have already tried scrambled eggs, deli meats, cheese and my sleeve handles it no problems. I am going to wait another week and start to incorporate fish and deli meats into my daily diet. I am drinking 1 costco Protein shake a day but once I can eat some 2-4ounce fish fillets, deli meats and cheeses daily I don't think I will need to drink Protein Shakes anymore.

The weight is coming off but keep in mind I hardly followed the pre-op diet, in fact did not lose a pound prior to surgery, maybe even gained. You would be shocked to know what I ate the night before surgery lol. I think this is why I got a little jump start post-op.

I'm excited for the Super Bowl... You guys have a party?

Thank you sooooooo much for posting it...so many people didn't want to provide that information on other sites I checked.

Thanks for the link, I saved it as a word document in case that pdf gets removed

how did you save it as a word document?

how did you save it as a word document?

Had to copy and paste the pages I wanted to save. Tedious but worth it :)

Mike,

Thanks for posting this... it is a great help!

Fletcherette,

How did you save it as a Word doc? The best I could do was print it - one page at a time!!

Ooops... posts move quickly.. just saw Fletcherette's explanation on how she saved it. I'm off to cut and paste!!
