January 21 Sleevers...how's your progress so far?

Recommended Posts

At this point I'm 4 days post op. I was able to do full liquids today. Had some heartburn and pain in my abdomen last night. Only been queasy once yesterday after I got home. I haven't lost any significant weight yet. Just ounces every day. I'm struggling with head hunger.

How are any new Sleevers doing?

I was sleeved on the 21st too. I'm doing pretty good but I'm still having gas pains. I can't really bend over either because it hurts which makes drying myself after a shower hard. I have been on full liquids for 2 days, I'm not getting as much in as I should but I'm trying, I just get so full! I haven't had problems with head hunger except when I briefly craved lamb shanks haha.

I haven't weighed myself yet but I will tomorrow morning.

I experienced a bit of heartburn once but nothing that concerned me.

How are you going with getting your liquids in?

They told us to actually expect some weight GAIN post op until several days out because of all the fluids they give you and the swelling etc going on.

It takes a long time for me to finish anything. I keep gulping and that us causing pain in my chest. I can't bend over either or try to lift anything. I have to keep my toddler from running into my stomach or laying on my stomach. That hurts the incisions.

I had mine on the 21st and have been doing ok...full fluids, struggling to get all of it in with protien but its improving. Get a lot of belching when I've drank too much, but other than that no head hunger or any kind for that matter. I guess I'm too afraid to mess my sleeve up...ill go as slow as I need to. It's cost me too much to mess it up.

Hey. I had my surgery on the 21st as well. I'm doing well. I am trying to get as much liquid in as possible. Today I drank about 3/4 of a Protein Shake and Water. I am struggling with head hunger but I just say I cant have food and push the thoughts aside. It is definitely difficult though. Im in almost no pain and my bandages on my incisions are starting to fall off and I am shocked how tiny they are but they look good. Hope everything is looking up for you all as well.

I had my surgery the 21st also. I'm not struggling with head hunger, for me its I see it I want to eat it! I've been on liquids and still having liquid out issues lol. I know I'm not getting enough to eat as far as Vitamins and Protein, but I just can't fit it all in there! After these four days I am finally back down to my per surgery weight! I walk 2 miles a day and have virtually no pain. No heartburn(never had it before). All in all I'm doing pretty good!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
