Hey guys, so I am getting super nervous!!! I have my surgery scheduled, 3 weeks from tomorrow, at Highland Hospital. I just scheduled my pre surgery testing today and I asked the lady if my insurance had approved the surgery. The lady told me that it would have had to been approved for her to be making this appointment with me...but I dont really see how that is possible since I just met with Dr. OMalley last thursday and he said that it wouldnt be submitted till this week. That seems pretty quick to me!!

Anyways....I am getting really nervous and scared, although I am still excited...its really hitting me now. How have you guys been recovery wise? Did it take you long? Any advice? Did I mention how scared I am? LOL

Hi guys... I just wanted to say good luck to you all. I have been pretty much told by insurance that there is an ice cubes chance in hell that I will ever be approved unless I gain all my weight back and then some and then go back onto a 6 month diet, and gain a few serious co morbities because the ones I have aren't "serious" enough. So here is to me trying to diet like I have a sleeve and see how far it takes me. So you girls rock your sleeves and good luck to the ones waiting for insurance approval! Maybe I will be back around trying this again when the weight tides come rolling back in.

hey pandabear, my doctor, emily, does the medifast program. apparently, you can lose the same pound a day on the progam a the surgery. look her up online and give her a call. she is sweet and very supportive and she is your coach for the program.

starla, i dont know what t tell you. as i havent had the surgery yet, but we used this CD with my husband before he had surgery a few years ago. it helped him a lot, as he is a very anxious person.

you can download stuff like this cheeper than the CDs btw. http://www.amazon.com/A-Meditation-Promote-Successful-Surgery/dp/1881405346

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
