Enough Restriction?

Recommended Posts

Yes, I agree with you regarding having enough restriction that keeps you from overeating and gaining weight; but you still have to use some will power and exercise to move the scale down after a few months. Of course, that also depends on your age and how much you have messed up your metabolism over the years. At this point, I have decided to go with a little lessor fill and stop my recurring reflux issues and slippage problems.

Maybe after a few months at this fill, I might try a little more. I have had my band for one year and have lost 50lbs. which is less than some people; but I'm 25lbs from my goal and hope to get this off next year.

I was banded on Sep 18 and had my first fill, 1cc, a week ago on Oct 31. I lost 18 pounds right after surgery but have gained 2 pounds back in the last 2 weeks. Even after my first fill I don't feel restricted (not even a little). I'm anxiouse to go back for my next fill so I can start loosing weight. Any advice on how long to wait between fills?

My doctor always scheduled me when he thought I needed a fill but everybody is different, if you dont feel restriction after a 2-4 weeks I would say to try more, until you know you are tight, just dont get so tight that you are purging alot because this can cause slippage. Take it slow and dont get anxious, it will work.

:clap2: good job. You guys need to keep in mind to, duringmy 2week preop my doctor put me on a high protien diet and I lost 15pounds before surgery and went I went in for my first fill I had lost a total of 30 punds which was great to me. So everyone is different. Keep that in mind.

I am sorry, I meant 10/05, I want to loose 50 more pounds. Thanks for the reply:)

Good luck to you, there will be days when you think what in the world have I done,,,I did I even had a touch of anxiety for about a month and then I just told myself to calm down that it can come out at anytime and all will be fine. I got more adjusted with my band and began to focus on what I could eat drink, etc...I cant work out like I would like to because of back problems but I do walk as much as I can and I have done great...I had to do the stress test only before surgery and was glad of that...I have heard many go through so much and I waited 45days to be o.k with ins paying they paid 100% but 6months after my surgery they stopped paying for the band...dont know why but they did and a good friend missed out on having it done...I wieged 302 and now wiegh 179 I have not see that in years.....I mean years I feel great.except for the back thing which could have happen if I wieghed on 100lbs. Enjoy the food while you can especially if its hamb. or pizza I dont know about you but for me it wont go down...keep in touch I will say a prayer for you that all goes well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
