I have been banded for 3years now and just had mine opened for a health reason, but I only had 3.1cc in my band and that was restriction believe me I was told depends on the size band that is placed in you...I can only fill to a 4cc with my band...that is alll they said it would hold...I am having it closed back in oct....I have lost 125 have gained 12pds since I had it opened and that was on 8-3-07 so you gotta watch it...with it reopened/.

I think your doctor's should fix this for free....they know this can happen

Good question? I have been banded for 3years now and my port will lean just a bit when I was having my fills done they would grap it and slowly play with it and get it back in place but never has it fliped or turned completly around...

oh ya uhc paid the surgery 100% I was glad for that

hi, I use dr Benevidas for my surgery and Dr. Meses for my fills they are both wonderful doctors I have had no problems what so ever. Thank God for that I have lost 122 lb and have been banded for 3years this may 07. I feel great..and also I had UHC when I had my band done I did it in 5-04 and the ins. stopped covering it in sept 04, They would not even pay for my visits to doct..I have 3.1 in my band and that is enough and have been that way for 105 years now..Good luck they are in Richarson texas

I love my Dr Pepper. I was reading about the rice...I cant handle rice alone. Me and my sisternlaw made deer stew(yes I grew up on deer meat) and she love rice and I said o.k, she put one bag of Boil in a Bag rice in the stew and let it cook and you know I had no problem with it at all. I have found that if you can camaflouge the food in some way to make it soft or more crispy it goes down great...and you dont have to starve and do without. That is the whole key to this band. You learn to cut down and subsitute for other things...For those that worry to much you wont be able to eat because if your worring in your mind about things about the band remember that your stomach will tighten up as well learn to relax before a meal, and take small bites....( i am not perfect with the band ither and I miss things too but I love my size 16 jeans..before I would not wear jeans they cut me at the waist now you cant get me out of them....

hey Rockin Robyn I love your little lady excersising, looks like me before the band....I saw it and laughed out loud here at work. my friends had to see it and they too agreeded it looked like them....thanks for the laugh....

I know when a lot of you read this you will go WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! i am a dr pepper freak. When I was told i could not drink them after surgery I thought o.k. that will be o.k.. And for 5months I did not have one in fear of the problems the doc. told me I would have. Well the Texas Fair was going on and we go every year...I bought lemonade and it was sour so I took it back and the lady said, we will have to make more what else would you like I said Dr pepper. With the notion I would give it to my husband. i got it took it to him and he said just take a small sip because it was hot that day and we had no water close to get. The stand had no water...so I did and it went down fine. Well then I told a friend of this that was banded and she said what she does is she will pore the soft drink in a glass and let it sit for 5min or so till the fizz is gone then she drinks it slowly. I tried it and it works no problems at all. Now, I dont drink them like I used to put when it hits me to drink one I do. I have been baned for 2years now and have lost 110. I am doing great with no problems Thank God....SO Please no harsh replys....This is my call. and it effects no one but me.

oh ya banded in may 2004 have lost 110 went from size 28's and up down to 18-16 depends on maker of clothes...had no problems with band at all Thank You God for giving me that Blessing....I am 44 years old and my stepmom said to me you are back to the size you was at 18yrs old....wowooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel good

Well that is me too. I have just about figured out what I can and cannot eat..I love Hamburgers all the way but I know I cant do it so I buy a smal one and take it home and chew it up and out it goes...this sounds crazy but you know what it kills the craving I have which is not real often but there are times I cant help my self...I eat steak(Ribeye) because its tender and moist and I can chew small pieces and it goes right down no problem. I have to pass on Pizza and Spaggttiiii...2 of my most favorite things to eat out of the other 100 things (hahah).

Yes its to early for solid foods on you Fitz. But I will tell you somthing I have found that Mexican food is what I eat best so I have beef enchi. rice beans. chips and hot sauce. Now I take the tortilla off the enchilades cause it wont go down so what I do is mix the meat and beans and eat up. I found that the tortillas wont work for me if they are not real soft then if so I have to cut them up real fine but my doctor told me I could have all the chips and hot sauce I wanted but not to over do it. i did not eat solid food for about 6weeks then I had my first fill and the journey bagan for me.

I have pains with my port area as well. I think it is because mine port is attached to the muscle accordding to my doctor. You can do normal things but you have to be careful not to pull that muscle..maybe you can back off a little if you exercise daily like set ups etc. I found swiming can make it hurt too. So, I swim a little and rest. I try not to pick up heavy things not only because of the port but because of the back as well. Did your doctor attach yours to your muscle?

If I was you I would go back to the doctor and insisit that he fix you right..some doctors want to do the surgery and be done. I on the other hand have banded for 2years now no problems. A good doctor would not let this go on. I suggest finding another doctor and go to them but check them out first. Good Luck to you.

sorry ladies and gentlemen I think its wrong...period.if you think its right go ahead to each his own. God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve get with the good book...by law a man and woman have to be married to get benefits or loan for a home now days...and everyone wonders why divorce rates are so high...come on be real here..If you want to live with the same sex go ahead do it. But let me say this. I know gay men and woman and I will tell ya they know I dont like it but yet they dont go around and throw it in your face. In public they are decent and dont hang on each other and kiss each other that is what they do in the privacy of thier own home and I respect them for doing it that way. They say they respect straight couples and straight couples respect them back they both work and have thier own ins. They also can buy a house without being married because they call it a partner ship...

YOu know over in CHina the government there takes care of thier seniors unlike us over here. My nephew travels there and so does my bnl and the cost of health care is so cheap but yet, One thing my nephew also said and by the way he was in Bancock Hospital for 17days, he got a copy of his bill everyday, also if he had a credit card from one of the local banks there he got a 20% discount on his bill. He said he had the best care over there than he had ever gotten here. Now, he sets his doctor appts according to his travel schedule for work, when he see's his doctor it a visit with the doctor himself for at least 1hr no less he says and gets his medicine there, which the doct visit is only 10.00 and med. 30.00 for 4 different types, Here is 1hr wait for doct, 10min with doct.(cause he is so busy and dont have time to listen) and the medicine we check and here with ins coverage would have costed him 450.00..Now you tell me our governments give a damn about us or our elderly parents,..and again our parents raised us and gave up time and sleep and money once they reach a certain age its our turn to help them out wether or not the stupid gov helps or not. I dont have time for some idiot behind a desk to tell me they cant take care of my mother or father....:angry Sorry, it just sickens me:tired
