Hello! My name is Taylor and I am scheduled to have the gastric sleeve surgery Friday, March 15th. Im young , but weighing in at 255 lbs at 5'3" is challenging. my friends consider me very confident and often label me as a diva, but my healthy will not continue to be as glamorous if I strive to be as long as I keep this weight. I am extremely excited , but I joined for some insight! My goal weight is 150-160. I'm just ready to start my new life! Hurry hurry March 15th so I can say goodbye to this tummy!

I am so glad to see someone around my age that is going though the process around the same time I am. I don't have a date yet but hopefully will in the next few weeks. How hard was it to get everything done to get your date? I haven't had too many problems yet but I still have my psych evaluation to face next week.

I am also happy to see someone around my age that is having surgery. I was not difficult getting everything done and getting my date. You just have to stay on your monthly appointments with your PCP. Thats a must. I still have my pysch evaluation to do so we're in the same boat on that one. Keep my updated on your success.

My records and support letter are suppose to be sent to Nashville today. With my insurance I just had to have 6 months of dieting in the last twelve months so that helped me get a jump start.

I'm 21 and I just had surgery on 12/17. I'm ready to have the body I knew I should have had all my life. I've been fat since I was 5 years old!

I wish you best of luck on this journey! There's also a group for sleevers in your 20s, but sometimes it's not very active.

Hi I was just wondering why and how you decided to get a gastric sleeve for weight loss? I'm considering it because I have PCOS and am struggling to lose weight. And also was it scary.

Taylor, you have made a decision that will bring positive change to your life at such a young age. I'm 48 years old and I have a daughter your age. I just had my surgery on 12/28/17 and I told my husband afterwards that I wish I had it 10 years ago. You're a wise young woman.

You're surgery will be soon. You mentioned that your friends call you a Diva. Well, maintain that Diva attitude by treating your stomach like gold - getting your Protein and fluids in and not overfilling it (it's easy to do if you're not paying attention to your bites or eating too fast - yes, it's me - accidentally a couple of times).

Best wishes on your surgery.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
