Hello everyone. I'm so mad because I had to take my lab band 2 years ago & wanted to get sleeved same times. Know I'm in 6 month program hoping I can get sleeve. So scare just to think it would be the same thing from band, my husband don't really wanted me to get sleeved because I used to get sick a lot with the lap band. Congrats to all the new sleevers. Happy New year!

Hi,

I had the revision in November 2012.

While I can say that I definitely don't have the pain I had associated with the band, it hasn't been smooth sailing.

The area in our oesophagus where the band was thethered, is still not healed for me and quite often mine becomes very very sore and I have to revert back to liquids only for a day or so and dried/old blood will often come up in my spit in the mornings.

I've lost about 31 lbs so far. I am really happy I had the operation, I see my weight problem as a terrible addiction/illness. I was so positive and happy up til about 2 weeks ago and now the doubts keep creeping back to me, I try to push them away and most of the time I succeed. I guess it's the same for all of us. I am a very impatient person and realise this is not realistic at all either. I absolutely hated my lap band and am so glad it's gone now, I have only good things to look forward to now as long as I follow the basic rules, must adhere. I know if I don't drink my Water and get my Protein and Vitamins, I feel very very ill and sad, it is a real chore to do but can be managed.

I hope all goes well for you and anyone else embarking on this journey, stay positive and exercise as soon as you can walk, even if its only a little, so important.

I had no pain post op other than the horrendous left shoulder spikes for four days after, I guess the PCA helped, was in Fentanyl heaven for days and couldn't complain.

Like i said stay positive, don't let the little stuff get to you and all will be great.

XXX

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
