*pain* muscles spasm Idk

Recommended Posts

I've had the pinch type pull with the internal stitches. This was different like I stabbing sharp radiating pain. It's at and around my largest incision where stomach was removed. I'm assuming it's muscles healing. It's just they get so tense for the first time. All I did was stand up. Any suggestions or comments. Something to help. Oh I was sleeved November 13th. So a little over a month out. But any comments will be greatly appreciated

I was sleeved Nov 14 and had that pain up until a week ago. Don't do any lifting for a bit. Mifne has completely gone now. I asked my surgeon and he said it was muscle pain from the surgery.

I have had that exact pain, I suffered with it for quite a while after surgery, mine came and went through out the day and it was so painful, I went to my surgeon with it a few times and finally had a MRI to rule out a leak ( he was confident it was not one) but it was my internal stitches causing spasms it did go away after resting, my surgeon said sometimes the stitches are a bit tight.

I'm going to give it a few more days. To see if it continues. It's not as bad as last night. Thanks for all the comments

Yep, it's caused by the stitches they put in your abdominal muscles (yes, you have them!) Once you get to feeling better you start moving more and it causes that pain. Once the stitches dissolve you'll be fine. Congratulations!

I have the same thing. I am 6 days out Right side largest incision where my stomach was removed. I went to dr today he removed all bandages and gave me a shot right next to the incision. Some type of numbing medicine. Then he gave me pain Patches to wear over the incision. Said it was from cutting through layers of muscles to insert port and from the internal stitches. Hurts like hell. Have to wear the binder all the time and hold my right side when I walk. Thought I would be feeling better by now. Dr said it could take 3-4 weeks

To heal. .

I've been freaking out over the same pain. Glad too see I'm not losing my mind. Mine is mainly when I go from sitting to standing or if I have to bend over.

I spoke to my doc and was told it was the stitches pulling that they are really tight. And that going thru the muscles they are mending back and so are the nerves. So you're going to feel it. But to keep moving but stay clear of lifting. Can use pain meds if you still have and to use heat and cold off and on. Pains will be there for a while but if it gets worse to let them know. And keep watch of fever chills vomit and bowel movements. Those are a must call them.

You are definitely not alone. I was freaking out since I didn't know this could be a possibility after surgery. I could barely move without this pain but 17 days later I'm almost 100%. It does get better...but it can be slow!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
