I'm not allowed to try rice for 9 months which sucks because I LOVE sushi!! Steak I could puree at 3 weeks (never did - ew) and then eat at 6 weeks. I have eaten it frequently and it goes down better than chicken and fish! Just dont cook it well done. I hear it's only lap banders that have probs with steak.

I love sushi too!!! Can't wait to be able to eat it, just haven't ventured out yet. I am able to eat way more than when I first started. I just make sure I eat Protein first

That's odd I don't remember being told to avoid rice. I've had rice with no problems but try to avoid it until I lose the rest of my weight because of the carbs/calories. I haven't had a steak yet, but have eaten meat with no problem as long as it's tender. I just can't seem to hold much. Strange how I can eat a lot of somethings but only a small amount of others.

Hello November skeevers! I lost Seventy (70) since Dec 10th. I knew it would be rough going but ..... really nothing tastes as good as thinner feels. I am still a burly bear I still have a few pounds to take off, but it dropping at a steady pace. THE GOOD: I am wear now wearing the smallest pair of jeans I had stored in the closet from six years ago. My testosterone has surged, ( no further comment needed) and I feel like I am Twenty again. THE BAD: I still hurt, slime on occasion and still can't get all the protien I need to eat in . THE UGLY : my hair started to fall out, so I am now sporting a shaved head. I scare me in the mirror these days.

Hi fellow sleevers!

Checking in again! I have lost 69lbs as of this morning. I was sleeved 11/13. My HW was 248.8 (start of pre-op)- CW is 179. I've gone from wearing a TIGHT 20 to a loose non stretchy 12. Tops I've gone from XXL to a Medium! Things have gone well- no real issues eating anything and I'm happy with my results.

Before

This morning- pardon the dirty counter lol

I had my 3 month f/u yesterday (it has been 4 months since surgery 11/1). I've only lost 38 so I am one of the slow losers. I have been in a fluctuating stall for a few weeks now. My dr said I can do a 2 day liquid diet to kick start my weightloss again. He said it will shock my body and get me going. He also said that I must walk everyday. It doesn't matter how fast' date=' just to do a mile everyday. He said that is the key to keep the weightloss going. Overall he said I'm doing great.

Sw 220

Today 183

From size 18 to 12/14

BMI from 43 to 35 in 4 months

I'm happy with my results and my increased energy. And I am loving to shop now. :)

When I went for my 3 month, I had lost

45 lbs. I was pretty bummed but my NP said I was doing great, above average. She said because I started at a lower weight, I wouldnt loose as fast as say someone who was heavier than me. Also, she told me I wasn't having enough calories... I was on a two week stall. I was exercising intense, 5 days a week for an hour and consuming 550 calories. I upped my calories and Water, and added another Protein Shake every day. My stall passed and I am 4 months out and down 55 lbs. Keep up the great work, the stalls will come and go!

Hello all checking in...surgery was Nov. 7th I have lost 94 lbs. Good: feel free. Dropped a few clothing sizes, able to do so many things physically w/o pain.....loving life! Bad: Hit my first stall...been there a few weeks & my hair is thinning rapid. Still even with the bad it was the best decision ever.... My life has changed dramatically!

Haven't updated in a while. I had surgery on 11/20, my weight day of surgery was 315. Today I weighed in at 227. I'm sitting at 88lbs lost since surgery. Pretty stoked. I walk, want to start couch to 5k soon, do yoga and have been getting my butt kicked at Crossfit for a few weeks now. Unfortunately I have to take a short break from all that...today I am having my gallbladder out. It's been giving me problems for over a month now. So taking it out should relieve me of the pain, nausea and vomiting.

But great losses everyone! Keep up the great work!!!!!

My surgery date is Nov. 14th. I've lost total 82lbs. I keep running into stalls. Just recently came off dairy and breads. ( at least for a while) but that helped my stall. I still struggle getting all my Water in.

My surgery was 11/8 and this last month I've hit a stall, I think I've lost 1 or 2 lbs. Hopefully the scale will start moving again :) I did notice clothes fitting different ( looser) so my body is still doing its thing :)

Surgery 11/13 I started at 248 I'm now at 176. I feel great and it's amazing what I can do now that I know I wouldn't have been able to 5 months ago! I've gone from a tight size 20 and 1x top to a size 12 and a medium top.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
