Congrats on the break-out Liz!! Let the house go or have your fiancé pay for a cleaner. Take it easy and heal so you don't have to go back! :)

I fear I may have to go back. I just woke up dry heaving and crying in pain. I went from 24/7 morphine for a month to cutting it off old day. I hate saying this but I think my back got used to the angle of the hospital bed. I may have to try and recreating it.

I hope you start feeling better again. It could be the angle you were in for a long time..

Praying for you....

I couldn't sleep laying down for some time Liz and when I returned home I returned to the guest room again with dozens of pillows to recreate the incline in my hospital bed as well. I thought I hated that thing, but my body had gotten used to sitting up I guess. I would also get nauseous when lying down flat :( Sorry love

I don't know if it would help but I have seen foam wedges that you can buy to help you lay at an incline, I am planning to get one soon due to my Restless leg syndrome. It sounds weird but if I sleep partially sitting up my legs arent as bad as when I sleep flat. Good luck and I am so happy to see that you got to go home, you have been in my prayers and now I will pray you stay home an healing comes without any further issues :}

Ok. I'm still nauseated but not vomiting. I've discovered I have to be propped up, and a good part of my problem is the opiate withdrawal. Still pretty sick, but not ER sick for now. My big goal is fluids.

Shoot for crazy low amounts at first liz...get 8 oz at least one day, take that up to 16 the next, keep going and shoot to meet 48 after a week (my docs plan and it worked). count everything!!!! vodka too!!! ;p

My lips are blood red, so is my tongue with a god awful bile taste. Dr says it sounds like thrush. What the Hell is next? Getting a prescription for phenergen today because I'm vomiting despite the zofran and scope patch. Ugh.

Also, never knew it would be this hard to take a shower.

Oh Liz I'm so sorry :(

I told my fiancé I'm practice for parenthood. I have thrush, I got sick on the bed, he has to wake up every few hours to medicate me lol it's quite the show.

That's great!! You HAVE to keep your sense of humor. Sometimes that's the only thing that will get people through stressful times when everything seems to be spinning out of control. Hugs!

That definitely is practice indeed! :)

You're so fun and yet you are hurting. I'm so glad you have someone loving to care for you!

How is your mom?

My heart goes out to you!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
