Time To Check Out My Hospital's Er!

I'm dreading this as much as I hate the intensifying chest pain I've been having for 10 hours. Uuuugh. Just hope it's nothing major! Fingers crossed for the ever embarrassing "it's just gas" diagnosis.

Bleh.

Thanks darlin'!

Praying right now! keep us posted...

Praying the pain ends soon and the problem will be gas. Good luck and keep us posted.

Oh liz! I too hope it's "just gas" but I applaud you for going in to figure it out hun. Too many people don't and it's a bigger issue.

When you're ready to head home stop on by and I'll lock you in a room with a naked christmas tree and a gallon of eggnog (laced of course). That will either put you out of your misery or make you super jolly! Both are better than pain :)

Gotta say, I'm super impressed with the ER. I've had an EKG, chest X-ray, IV placed and bloodwork in just 30 minutes. Thanks all for the prayers! And Iggy, your story is what kept me from staying at home just to see if it got better or worse. I'm hoping it's something simple!

Alright my second guess was right, it's another costochondritis flare up. Without being able to take the NSAIDs I need, they're sending me home with Tramadol and I have to ice my sternum every hour. Uuuugh. Oh well, nothing I haven't dealt with before and at least it's not a leak!!

Oh thank god. I was super worried!

I don't do this because I'm not an emotional person but it means the world to me that you guys care enough to pray. My mom wouldn't even wake up. It's weird to feel strongly and close to somebody you've never met. I have a special love and IMMENSE respect for all of you that took the time to post well wishes. <3

Special thanks to Iggy and her courage to be honest and inform us newbies that anything big or small shouldn't be taken lightly.

And Fyre Storm-keep on making me hungry with your posts! I can't wait until I can start solids because I found a SF cake that I'll be making just for foodies like us ;)

And if all of you don't mind, pm me your email or real address so I can send you some more personalized thanks.

Thanks everyone! You're all in my thoughts tonight and I will absolutely pay it forward!

Happy to hear its something that can be treated at home. Get well soon! Praying for you!

So happy it was something that you could treat at home. Praying you can get over this very soon!!! :)

Liz darling, I'm so glad you are ok! And you touched my cold little heart :P If all that comes out of my trauma is that someone listened and takes their aches and pains seriously enough to check the out before they end up like I did...I'll feel like there has been some value to all of this :)

I'm glad it wasn't something life threatening:) I get costochondritis as well and it is VERY painful. Feels like a heart attack every time. My doctor recommended heat for the pain and it seems to work. I haven't tried ice. Hope you feel better soon!

So glad to hear you found out what was wrong and it isn't super serious. I hope the flare doesn't last long and your road to healing doesn't have anymore rough spots. I haven't yet had my surgery but I agree with you, there are a lot of very special people on this site who love each other and have never even spoke to one another let alone met. My prayers are with you for speedy recovery :}
