Everything went well, not too much pain. Leak test in the morning. Can't wait to have a drink, so parched.

I am 42 and weigh 232and have been overweight my whole life though I do eat healthy foods. I have come to the realization that i am at the age where I need to be drastic and get results. I am hoping for and end of Feb surgery and started the process last April but got delayed by my insurance requirements and then by a change of insurance so I am submitting for authorization again. My Dr is Dr Hanna in Las Vegas.

Hello all' date=' my name is Katrina my pre~op date is this Thursday the 7th and surgery is scheduled for Feb. 19th. My surgeon is Dr. Thomas Umbach in Las Vegas. I am glad the day is almost here but I am also a lil scared now that it's all so close and is now so "real". I have been on VST since October and have got a lot of info from fellow sleever's. I am still a little confused on how were supposed to get in all our Water & Protein, but i'm sure I will figure it out after surgery. I am glad this forum was started thanks Liz :} I wish all much success with surgery and there new life :} I'm sure I will be asking lots of questions to all my fellow Feb sleever's hope ya'll don't mind[/quote']

Mini my surgery is the same day. Preop tomorrow, I too am getting nervous as the date gets closer praying for u

Sleeved on Feb 1st.. Surgery went great... Doc says liver was perfect... After recovery they put me in a room ( didn't notify my family) and left me for an hour. I was in so much pain it was in my back...once I got pain medicine they had to alternate with two different kinds b/c they i went so long without meds.. They had to get it under control... Finally I was told that I was not in the hospital records so they could not give me pain medicine right away.. But the good news is I'm home...feel much better just a little sore..

Glad to hear you are doing well!! Keep us posted!

yes, I have diabetes and low thyroid which were diagnosed this year. The reqs are pretty similar but I am hoping they take all I did before and don't come up with new hurdles

Hi, good luck! I'm a week sooner on the 11th. One week from today. Yikes. If you have any questions let me know. I'm home Thursday but late. So I could answer on Friday the 15th.

I am also having surgery on the 11th. Praying everything goes great!

Same here. The no liquid diet is worse than the liquid diet. Feeling light headed and disoriented but they got me sitting in a chair. Better breathing. Gave me better pain meds. Waiting 20 minutes for my next dose.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
