January 2013 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Well I'm sleeved! I spent yesterday exhausted from not sleeping the night before and morphine. It isn't too bad but I've had bad nausea and that is difficult. There is pressure on your chest/ stomach but little pain. Gas pains for me aren't too bad. Overall it went great! I can't believe ithe wait is over! Well I'm going back to sleep! :)

I love hearing updates from people after their surgeries. Good luck to all of today's sleevers and keep us posted! I will do the same after my surgery on the 18th!

My surgeon had to fix a hiatal (think I spelled that right) hernia as well. They are going to give me blue ice this morning, to ensure my stomach has no leaks and hopefully I will have my foley removed as well.

I had my surgery yesterday morning' date=' I'm feeling okay, a little abdominal discomfort, but mainly my discomfort is by my left collar bone, and that is common with laparoscopic procedures but I feel surprisingly good.

I had hoped to have my surgery scheduled on Jan 8th but through the holidays I gained instead of losing now I am struggling to lose 16lbs. I feel so discouraged and mad at myself. I was 7lbs away from the Doctors goal and I totally blew it. Well back to basics and hit the treadmill for an hour a day. I am really going to try hard to hit this nail on the head once and for all!

My surgery time was bumped due to an emergency but I eventually got taken upstairs Tuesday a bit after noon. Came out with no complications and was out of recovery and into my own room around 4pm. Didn't have any serious pain, just general discomfort and only had a little oxy before going to bed. After rounds they discharged me a bit after 2pm Wednesday.

Ran a couple of pharmacy errands with my friend on the way home from the hospital and settled in for some Protein Shakes and television before some more oxy and an early bedtime. Woke up a couple of times in the night but no real pain, just some twinges in some positions, particularly gas pains in my left shoulder which sucks because I'm usually a left-side sleeper.

A glorious shower this morning and curling up in my recliner to do some reading and email answering and things are pretty good. I hope everyone else here has a nice uneventful surgery and a complication-free recovery!

I got out of surgery late yesterday afternoon. Had an ok night. Staff made it impossible to sleep more that 2 hrs at a time. I took pain meds last night but I'm feeling pretty good today. I have only taken Tylenol since early this am. It's 12:30 and they just brought me a tray of liquids. Hope I don't have trouble cause I'm ready to go home.

I had my sleeve yesterday, and it went well! I am home now, with a crappy stomach, is this gas?? I haven't passed any yet but feel like a have no stomach muscles. I seem to be sleeping all the time, from the pain meds. Glad to hear so many of you did good too! Good luck to Friday's sleevers.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
