Sleeved by Dr. F Garcia March 21, 2013, 2 1/2 weeks ago... Down 25 lbs... Amazing experience, totally recommend!!

Hi all.. I spend less and less time in the Mexico forum and more in the main forums now. I just posted my before and goal photos a couple of days ago in the "success" section. They should be in my profile too. I had surgery with Garcia about 11.5 monts ago and have lost 200 lbs. Great Doctor and great recovery. I must also add the disclaimer that I did not follow his post op diet. I need some rules and his was more of a everything in moderation plan. No regrets!

Sleeve 10/09/13 starting weight 342, currently 240 :-)

Sleeved November 15,2012 down to 200 best thing I have done. Only regret is should ate done this 5 years earlier in life. Thank you again to the entire team with F. Garcia

I was sleeved 9 April..... im down 10 pounds but that is mostly fluid I gained from iv and im sure theres a lot more in there as my tummy is still swollen. Also, I switched to Dr. Garcia less than a week before my surgery so I really only did 3 days pre op.

He is a good doctor and I loved Florence hospital to. Good luck on your journey!

Hi.....if u dont mind sharing... i was just wondering what can u eat ? Im only 5 days out its a lil hard being on liquids and telling yourself that solids will come back eventually.

I was sleeved a year ago on May 15...I've lost 130 pounds so far. It's a lot slower going now, but still slowly (very slowly) dropping. I now really have to watch what I eat, get my protein, drink water and exercise!

I'm down 73 pounds since November 15 ,2012

I eat anything now steak chicken pasta everything

When I came home from Mexico I did jello and pudding for 2 weeks

After 14 days I started eating chicken in small portions and liquid

Breakfast and lunch I did 30 gram protein shakes and ate protein chicken shrimp white fish for supper

I have eliminated all pop alcohol and wasted calorie food out of my life.

I was in a 40 inch waste and now down to a 32 inch waist with a belt

XXL shirt down to a medium/ large depending on the shirt

The first time I tried food slowly everything did not go well at all. But I just spy trying and pounding through.

Fruit was the hardest to get use to again and remember chew chew chew .

That was the hardest part to remember to do after.

But I do eat everything now I can say I did finally eat a cheese burger.

My parents don't know I did this and was there or supper and I'd not have a lot of choice that night. Took awhile to eat but I did get it down with a struggle.

Amytug, I have noticed that too.. there is on Dr. I have researched on here where it seems like all of his patients lose faster than others. Plus I dont see a lot of weightloss checkins from Dr. Garcia's patients, you know like 6months later, now I am going with him, because I have researched and researched, watched youtube and spoken with Alma and the whole nine. I just want to know, what a few patients progress is down the line.

What day is your surgery?

Hey folks,

So it's been a while since I posted to this forum. It's actually been awhile since I opened this app. I was sleeved my Dr. Garcia Feb 5, 2013. My start weight was 248, surgery weight 239, current weight 205. I am closing in on 11 weeks post op. I have lost a total of 43 pounds including pre-op. 34 pounds since surgery. Everything has been great so far. No complications, a few moments of discomfort but not real problems. I'm learning a lot about my new stomach.

I haven't post to this site because I've been busy. And honestly I think that's how it is for other patients. When you are preparing for surgery your main focus is research. So you spend as much time as possible in forums, etc. But once you have had the procedure your focus isn't the forums or research. But more so on following protocol and trying to survive this procedure with no complications.

Trust me I know how frustrating it is to be looking for more people with experience. When you are trying to do your research. But believe once you've completed this process. You'll be so focused on doing things right that you forget to check in in blogs and forums.

For me I have only been able to focus once a week to my YouTube channel. Which is getting scares. I've gone from 6 min weekly vids to 56 secs weekly videos. There is a lot of sleevers that use YouTube. Maybe you all should follow a few of us to keep posted. Again I post every Tuesday sometimes Wednesday if I'm super busy. If you want to follow me you can.
